Okay so I'm looking to purchase a domain. I've checked on Yahoo Domains and GoDaddy first as these are 'fully compatible'. The problem is on GoDaddy the domain I'm looking to purchase seems to have a * next to it, suggesting it's taken, and on Yahoo it's available but I would have to buy in $ when I'm located in the UK. 123reg however looks much more simple and the domain I want is there clearly for purchase. So if I was to go about purchasing from 123reg would I be able to use www.soundrevolution.com/forums or forums.soundrevolution.com Help would be appreciated, no experience of purchasing domains before so all help appreciated, James. |

You would be able to use forums.soundrevolution.com. Our system doesn't work with www.soundrevolution.com/forums. Have you already purchased soundrevolution.com? A web search shows me it's already taken. |

I was using it as an example as precautionary measure incase somebody grabbed the domain I wanted, bit silly I guess. The real doimain I wanted was the same but .net thanks for the reply ![]() If that was to happen would it also somehow create unique pages for topics? Like forums.sound-revolution.net-topicid?736 something like that? Just makes navigation easier? cheers. Can anyone clear this up for me? Edited by Soundrevolution, May 7 2009, 01:38 PM.

Yes, that's correct. When you set a new domain on your board, it replaces the current URLs on your board. So instead of: http://z3.invisionfree.com/Sound_Revolution/index.php You'd have: http://forums.sound-revolution.net/index.php Jonathan |

Ahh that's great news, thanks ![]() One other thing, if I follow the tutorial to set up my domain (now purchased) as the tutorial explains, will it be possible to make my blog the home page for my domain. I really hope this is possible because it's really important. I want to make my blog (http://sound-revolution.blogspot.com/) the home page for my website (www.sound-revolution.net) and then when clicking on the button I made that redirects to the forum (http://s3.invisionfree.com/Sound_Revolution/) I would like to make this page forums.sound-revolution.net/index.php?. Will this be possible, if so can somebody help me. This is the first domain I've purchased and really need help so i'd appreciate this a lot. Thanks, James.
