Hi,

Even after reading dozen of postings here I'm still completely lost on how to do this :$ .

Would like to set up the Invision Board so that it shows up as being on my domain when people click on link to it from www.EagleRiderUdon.com/index.htm

My board: http://z3.invisionfree.com/EagleRidersUdon/

My Web host: Webhostingpad.com

My Domain: EagleRiderUdon.com

Domain registered with Webhostingpad.com

CNAME = ? / A = ?

How do I do this. Please explain so that even I can understand it.

Hi there. Domains can be understandably confusing.

In your domains control panel, do you see anywhere that let's you edit cname or a-records? If so, take a screenshot of this page and paste it in here. :)

Jonathan, I only got cPanel X access. Obviously that doesn't give access to these things.

I tried nslookup which gave following results:

Contacted my Web host. Here is the reply from them:

Hello,

Webhost manager is not available with Cpanel. We provide the latest version of Cpanel for all the customers. Please let us know what you need to do with the WHM, so that we can change CNAME and A-records for you from our end.

Thank You,
Ron Reddy

That I did by taking a screen shot of you guide for setting it up in WHM and mailed it to them together with my board details (z3.invisionfree.com) + informed name of a subdomain.

That resulted in following reply:

Hi,
We have made the changes for you. It will take 24-48 hours to propagate the changes.

We have also redirected the subdomain board.eagleriderudon.com to http://s3.invisionfree.com/EagleRidersUdon

All I have to do now is to wait 48 hours and then add my subdomain in the Domain Manager. Is that correct?

Cheers,
ThaiJan

Can tell everybody that this works. ;)

I added my subdomain in the Domain Manager after 24 hours, choose it as Primary, and the board now shows following URL: www.subdomain.mydomain.com

Thanks Jonathan for putting me on the right track.

Cheers,
ThaiJan
