I disagree. Infact, why don't you recommend me some bands?
But, at the end of the day it's all subjective.

Then you are a simple idiot. oh yeah, i am the idiot for having an opinion. you can incorporate so much into today's rock, which most musicians i listen to do, that blows the likes of led and pink out of the water. i've heard scores and pieces implemented into rock that make me feel good. that is why i believe today's rock is much better than the pasts as i don't listen to that old stuff anymore. future rock is making a turn for the best and what they do now with the guitars makes led and pink look like some amateurs. that is my opinion though.

Having an opinion is fine, bashing music isn't. But I suppose two can play at this game.
Classic Rock bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Aerosmith, Boston, and so on....they actually incorporated half their damn souls into what they did. They didn't make music for the soul purpose of money. They did it to express themselves. And they actually had good sounding music. True guitar riffs with complexity and feeling..not this repetitive bullcrap.
New Rock...who is it nowadays? Stone Sour, Daughtry, Nickelback, Slipknot, ect? Taking none of those bands as examples, Newer Rock is pretty good, and it's a mild step-up from Classic Rock, in studio form. Half these bands nowadays soil the good name of Rock laid down by these bands you seem so ready to bash. There is nearly no soul left in Rock today, just over hyped bullshit, bands forming for nothing but the money, or the fame. However I will admit that isn't the case with everyone. All I see is metalcore, "emo", post-punk, and Nu Metal bands. No real Rock bands. All of them play slow music if they are even labeled as Rock. There is no true feel for the guitar anymore..it's all simple riffs a monkey could play. And if you dare fight this point to me, I'll put you in your place. You can have all the opinions you want, I have facts. There are so many damn subgenres to Rock nowadays that there is no such thing as a Rock band anymore.
METAL is closer to the old, good stuff than the actual Rock genre will ever be again.
As for your comment about incorporating more into Rock. Please, what can you say has been incorporated? All I see in the "true" Rock genre anymore is a bunch of old men talking about how shitty their lives have been, or a bunch of girly teens mutilating instruments because they have nothing else to do except check their myspace every other minute. Such incorporation. I'm done.
As for the discussion at hand. Auto-tune is fine once in awhile but recently it's gotten ridiculous. This is just one more reason why I'm not going back to Rap/Hip-Hop.
Edit: Also the post before the one above mine, you said you had an opinion. You can't call an opinion a fact, which you did. An opinion is your personal perception of something, a fact is a 110% accurate, proven-to-be-true statement. End of.

I'll show you some new releases and explain to you how they incorporate more than Lep Zepp the Floyd did.
Sunn O))) - Monoliths & Dimensions - Four extended tracks of utmost darkness and evilness. Each track is an organism, spilling forth all the evil and bile of this world into a deep dark void of endless hopelessness. Sickinening voices, choires, horns are all sucked up in the two guitars, sucking and pulling everything into it.
Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion - This is properly the complete oppsite of Sunn O))). This is about the joy, the happiness and the beauty of life. Each track swirls around each other, swelling up in a world of synths & voices. Every note & sound is there to serenade the world, the celebrate the excitement, the hope, the pure beauty of living.
Dälek - Gutter Tactics - Hey, a hip-hop release. But this takes aggrestion to a new form, rapping over pure hardness, anger & frustration as the world around the protagonist is being destroyed & ruined in front of his very eyes.
Your comments just show a level of ignorance that the only music being made is cheesy rock, manufactured pop & commercial hip hop. Just open your eyes! Search for music! If you do this, you will find an amazing world of music being made at the moment.

I know of Animal Collective, amazing band tbh. I think my comment would have stood better ground if I had mentioned it was directed at the mainstream of today's Rock. The stuff spammed over the radios. That stuff....none of it can even come close to capturing the true essence of music that I've heard in Animal Collective. However, I didn't think AC was labeled as Rock?

But experimental, 'electronic' rock. Rock is just such a broad term now.
On the mainstream stuff, I agree with you though. Mainstream rock was better in the 60s & 70s.

Just to be controversial I will say I think that Led Zep are vastly overrated.

oh god, a classic rock v. modern music debate...how original. get over it, old and new music alike sucks, just as old and new music alike is good. Whats popularized may have changed, but who the hell should really care? there is still much to be found.
oh, and attack attack!'s use of auto-tune is annoying.
the only good thing theyve done is a cover of katy perry's 'i kissed a girl'....for sheer comedy reasons...

oh, and attack attack!'s use of auto-tune is annoying. Fixed. Watch the official video for Stick Stickly for some entertaining (in the so bad you can't look away fashion) crabcore.
I don't mind full-blown auto-tune on, say, one track of an album just as a gimmick for the effect it creates, or to touch up the vocals in places. When it's done right you don't even hear it. What I do mind is bands that use it as a crutch.
