Act as staff for one section; Moderator abilities, but not staff.

I have a user on my forum that needs to be able to post in the "news" section for his clan. I don't want him to be staff for the entire forum, so I just decided to give him moderator abilities for the "news" section. That did not work though, as he is not considered "staff", and therefore cant post in the staff only news section.

Is there anyway I can make it so that he can post in he news section without making him a moderator for the entire forum?

Thankyou,
Labmonkey

I'm guessing members may not post threads in that news forum? If so, then what I say below will work. If not, then I apologize and no need to even read on. :P

All you have to do is this: ACP -> User&groups -> Forum Access -> Create New Permission Set

Next, make it match that of a member's mask. After you create it, go to the news section, and edit its settings, allowing the new permission mask you just created to make a new thread. Now go to the particular user's profile in the ACP and change his permission mask (it is called Alternative Group) and select the new mask you created previously.

I hope this helps you. :)
