I'll join. The MapleStory fighting system is made up of skills from your character, one of which you drag to a shortcut on your keyboard and once you press it, it'll automatically to the move/skill you want it to do. The shortcuts on the keyboard can also be used for Buddy Lists (Self explanatory), Party members, etc. MapleStory at first glance seems stupid, but It can be addictive. But also time consuming, I wouldn't recommend it for people who are going through school.. trust me. It's THAT addictive. But unless your truly lazy, you'll probably play for a long long time. MapleStory is bsed on MMORPG/Fantasy/And a bubbly quirky japanese styled Monsters, fashion sense, as well as mixed with more a "History" feeling where Archers, Warriors, etc existed. The game consists of five main classes (also known as jobs). -Archer <---- Arrows -Warrior <---- One Hand swords, two hand swords, spears, pole arms. -Magician <---- Elemental -Thief <---- Dagger or Throwing stars -Pirate <--- Guns or Knuckles There's also such things as private servers, which are replicates of the real game. Only you can customize it (If you own it) to whatever you want. Which are illegal, but only if your making money off it. So say in the real MapleStory, you kill a monster and you get 32 EXP Points, in a private server, the owner can make it so that same monster will give 1,000,000 EXP Points. Which brings out the fun of it, but it's fun after playing the real MapleStory for a bit. ---- There's also an option to buying these certain Points which are known as "NX Cash" where you can buy exclusive clothing, weapons, pets, basically for more fun.. In private servers, these will cost "Mesos" which can be found by killing normal monsters. And..basically everything is free. Edited by lightfire, Jun 21 2009, 12:36 AM.

its unlike a lot of online games out their, you click the ctrl key to attack instead of clicking a monster, you do the attacks yourself, and their are some videos that show it better than I can explain it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVr8S6WXdog: watch it in HQ. Um.. mainly you lvl up, make friends, and have fun. Be warned though. It gets addictive. The site is maplestory.nexon.net, if you want more information tell me, right now I am really tired. BTW, if you sign-up, and want to play with me ( be able to buddy me, be in my guild and do PQ's with me, or have me help you lvl up[some people ask me to do that] ) go to... World: Bera , Create your Character Channel:Any, it dosen't matter, Click R, Add Buddy, UndeadDread. I'll be more awake tommarow to answer the question better.
I wouldn't recommend private servers, and trust me I used to own one. Theirs usually too much lag, and the server goes down with a overload of people. I've been in over 7 servers, and they all went down ( they usually don't last a year XD). Thats why I went back to Regular Maple and have leveled up the right way. Although it takes longer to lvl its worth it, cause your character won't be wasted when the server fails, or lags so much that the GM's need to make a rollback XD. I don't know, your choice. I used to play Runescape but the graphics sucked so yeah. I might try this out, tbh I might just do a bit over the summer. But sounds interesting, RPGs are nice.

same here, runescape was the first game I ever played XD, I didn't get it though since I was 10 at the time :P. Then I switched to Maplestory. |

Yep, still do. Private servers are pure awesome after having a long time experience with the normal MapleStory. Things are a lot more advanced now, its less lag. Less crashes. |

depends =/ when was the last time you played it? The old versions werent' that good, and i could have been game gaurd. They have a new guard, so you should try it again. |

give it a chance, gamegaurd did the same to my computer, and I still played after I redid my computer, the new gamegaurd should be suitable, It shoulden't damage your computer anymore |

I used to play but got bored of it. (This is then norm for me with all online games; at first I obsess over them, and then over varied periods of time I start to hate them.) I have accounts on both the global (North American/Canadian) and European servers... I'll probably get back into it soon~ |
