Television pitchman Billy Mays — who built his fame by appearing on commercials and infomercials promoting household products and gadgets — died Sunday.

Not a very good week for celebrities, is it?

First Michael Jackson, and now Billy Mays? They were both 50, and their birthdays are coming up soon. Coincidence? I think not. :P

Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, and now Billy.

Next up: Keith Richards. But he's always next. He just doesn't realize it.

I saw it on Digg this morning. This is really crazy. That's the 4th celebrity to die in the last 5 days (and David Carradine a few weeks ago).

Yeah, one of my friends told me about this earlier. Such a shame, and it seems that celebrities are just falling off like ripe fruits.

By the way, what is an 'infomercial' exactly? I could probably have a good guess just by looking at the name but...

It's basically a long commercial selling a specific product.

I heard the news earlier today and that is so crazy! I mean... this is like the fourth or fifth celebrity death within a week, but I see this guy on TV during commercials every day when I watch Will & Grace! Now I'm going to feel weird watching his commercials. :glare:
