I'm a big fan of the 'old' music. My iPod is filled with songs from artists such as: Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5, Journey, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Rick Springfield, Foreigner, Queen, Kiss, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Pat Benatar, The Beach Boys, and so on. I would like to add some new music to my collection ;) Can anyone suggest any artists/songs of the 'old days' that might suit me based on the information I provided?

Thanks a bunch, :)

I got excited by the topic title, but I'm disappointed in the lack of Classical music listed...

...or are you looking for some?

Never settle for a half measure.

Classical Music isn't the proper term for that type of music. :P Perhaps the decade or the year would suffice. I play several real classical music on the piano though.

If we're talking about your subject there's always Motown music (good stuff) and Mariah Carey's old music before she was signed to Virgin Records.

Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention, Van Morrison (Astral Weeks), Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, MC5, The Stooges, The Monks, The Velvet Underground, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, Leonard Cohen, Pärson Sound...

Oh, if you want some good experimental rock from Germany at that time; try Neu!, Faust, Can, Popul Vuh & Tangerine Dream.

They're not all pre 70's, but some good ones I know are: Rush, Triumph, Heart, Bad Company, Boston, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, & America ^_^
