I have a very varied taste but most listened to recently:
Mumford & Sons, Dream Theater, Frost*, Bon Iver, Rise Against, Steven Wilson, Snow Patrol, danlesacVsScroobiusPip, Transatlantic, Liquid Tension Experiment

I would definitely recommend Bon Iver to everyone, especially those who like Fleet Foxes.
Also, any DT fans might like Frost*, they supported on the recent UK tour and they are brilliant. All their albums are £5 downloaded from Amazon music store, and on Spotify :D.

they were boring as hell, and lacked the cohesion of a band. it was 5 musicians playing different songs, and worst of all, all three of them that did vocals sang in the same damned key.

Yeah, I had an album by Frost* and didn't like it one bit. But maybe I'll give them another shot one of these days. :P

Have you listened to the album? Do not judge them on their live performance, the sound quality at Southampton at least was horrible, and they are not that good live from what I have seen, but I love both albums of theirs.
Zeus00, listened to Liquid Tension Experiment much? They are awesome.
Also, I see you like PT, listened to Steven Wilson's solo album? Tis very good, Backfield is pretty good, but his solo album is superior imo.

No i haven't listened to their album, and after southampton i won't even bother. They are forever stuck in my mind as 'that awful band that wasted my time before dream theater'.

and stop talking about PT, it just makes me want the damned new album more >:| insurgentes leaked like six months early, why can't this? :(

That's a shame, its a brilliant album, all the songs were butchered by the crap sound quality, nothing to do with the band its self. If you won't listen to a band because of something out of their control, its your loss.

Yeah, I've listened to all that stuff. :P Not much of a fan of LTE, not my cup of instrumental tea. And Wilson's solo album is quite enjoyable, but I tend to like the Blackfield material better. Then again, I should probably listen to that solo album some more.

Progster thread hijack? Needs more Opeth.

Curve, The Sisters of Mercy, Clan of Xymox, Katzenjammer Kabarett, Covenant and wait isn't this what Last.fm is for?

wat

that's now how being a prog elitist works, you're meant to reccomend something really bizzare and obscure, like Alamaailman Vasarat, or A Forest of Stars, or Rush.

:D

Since when was Rush obscure prog? Its pretty much the father of prog, its the inspiration behind most modern prog bands.

Tim is listening to Explosions in the Sky :D
