I am a mechanic and when someone brings in a car that is dirtier than a garbage dump and smells from the rotten double cheeseburger with maggots crawling all over it, that really makes me mad. 9 times out of 10, the vehicle is newer and the customer is making monthly payments on it. They bring it in for an oil change because the engine is making noise only to find out the last time the oil was changed was when the dealer serviced it before selling it to them 20,000 miles ago.

I can't really name anything that gets on my nerves when I'm in a good mood, like I am now. ^_^

But I guess I hate people who spoil movies and books on purpose. I can forgive the accidental slip... but when paired with being obnoxious about it, I really want to punch somebody.

Wow, really?
I'd probably go with, generally speaking but with exceptions - women 1-3, 9-20 - because little girls are adorable, except for the inhumanly high pitched screams, and probably men 1-3, 7-70.
I hate kids.
Well, some kids.

You reminded me of another pet peeve though, which is those girls 14-17 you see at the mall or concerts or wherever that look like they're 19-25, because you don't want to look at them or think certain thoughts, but if they really are 19-25 and you don't, then you're out a perfectly legitimate opportunity to gawk and drool and daydream, or maybe more.
Girls should have to wear a large and clearly visible button or something stating their age, or perhaps have an RFID tag that could be read from 90 feet or so.

Just talk to them, it becomes apparent REALLY fast.

Er.. except you can't talk to them from across a room or at a show, especially while checking out their asses. :/
Though sometimes you can hear their wretched excuse for music and run away before even verifying that they're female..

I dislike it when people use incorrect homophones - that is, the different forms of your and you're, as well as there, their, and they're... to and too... and so on. :P
Same with me! Also, other word choice issues.
It gets worse when you see supposedly 'smart' people who just graduated from University being unable to grasp the simple concept of talking in third person for the facebook status, and using the worst grammar and spelling known to man. I mean you have a freaking keyboard, what is with the 'txt spk'? I also hate seeing the word 'nite' all the time. I actually find it easier to wrote properly words... and apparently I'm dumb for not having a degree :r
Haha, I 8 dis so clled txt spk 2... :ermm:
It's not so hard to write 'propper English' whether you have degrees or not, we all suffer 12 years of school now don't we :P

It really upsets me when people stick "eh" at the end of words ("kitteh"). And when people elongate written words in ways that just don't make any sense ("writttttten" versus "writteeeen").

Actually, the people who write "proper English" usually bug me a lot more than the people who use txtspk. :p

Other pet peeves of mine include untidiness, having to clean up other peoples' messes, the word "condolences," world peace, "yea" (pronounced "yay", as in "yea or nay") substituted for "yeah," and people who are afraid of exploration and learning (esp. when dumbstruck in front of a computer).

I hate hypocrites and people who spend way too much time on the Internet, myself included. Also, it really bugs me when people with more knowledge about software boast about it, or when people who know nothing claim to know everything. For instance, a person at my school claims 1.) Routers provide no security and are pointless in all networks, 2.) Firewalls are pointless, and 3.) Password strength isn't important, even though he's proven himself wrong on all occasions wherein he lost email accounts and actually had personal info (credit card number) stolen and used malignantly. Dumb piece of poo.

Yeah, but it annoys me when people are that lazy. When you need to resort to using those, they deserve to be annoyed.

Lmao - I have a friend like this at school and he talks about "getting around" the school's computer monitoring program. I asked him how he did it, he mumbled something about windows firewall...

To this day he still attempts to convince me that he can hack. Yeah, I'm sure he can.... not. :P
