Issues with PMs

One of my members for some reason can't send any PMs on the site. I've had her log off, log on as well as delete her browser history as well as her cookies.

When she goes into the quick reply area to PM someone back instead of sending the PM it goes to the 'compose PM' page and even from there when she hits send it doesn't do anything, it just stays on that page.

Anyone had any ideas what's going on or how to get it fixed?

It would be best if you could submit a Support Ticket from your board's Admin CP.

Thanks

I'm the Admin on my site, and I can't send PMs either, nor can one other member - everyone else can.

Nor can I click the smilies - and I can't click them here either!! Plus 'Show All' both here and on my own forum does not work.

Also, with the Fast Reply, when I press 'Send' it takes me to the full reply instead of sending the post.

I have raised a ticket, but I thought I would mention it all here as well, in case anyone else who can't send PMs has the other problems as well but hasn't realised it yet. :)

I have at least one member experiencing the same problem. It seems to be widespread across all zeta's but not specific to a board where it affects all the members.

This appears to be an issue with Internet Explorer (version 6 and earlier). While Brandon has been made aware of the issue and will fix it as soon as he can, I'm sure, I will recommend to you that you upgrade your version of internet explorer and/or use another web browser (at least in the mean time).

Sorry for the inconvenience. :)

AHA!! I do use IE6, Nicholas, and so does my fellow member who is having the same trouble.

I just tried a post with Mozilla, and I can send PMs, click smilies, click Show All, and Fast Reply works correctly, so it is definitely and IE6 (and earlier) problem.

I can't upgrade to 7 or 8 (I hate tabbed browsers). So, I will wait for Brandon to fix it to work with IE6. :)

You can disable tabs in Internet Explorer 7. ;)
I strongly recommend the upgrade. :) Internet Explorer 6 is slowly being removed from the list of supported browsers by major internet sites. It just doesn't meet web standards at all by any stretch of the imagination.

Here's a metaphor: driving internet explorer 6 is the equivalent of driving this car:

You may think I'm kidding, but I'm not. It seriously is the equivalent. IE7, 8, Firefox, Opera, and Chrome are literally today's cars compared with IE6 being that one.

No joke.
