Is there anyone online on IFSZ that has made an IPB forum before and knows how to upload the files and everything else willing to come on MSN and tell me?

I have the files on WinRAR and I have FileZilla open.

Please? :/

First you should make a mysql in your control panel or whatever. Then make a folder for your site where you will keep your forum files at. Then drag the files into the folder. Then run the install files and fill out all the necessary info.

You could always look at the instruction manual which comes with the package...

I have a similar problem. I'm fine with the uploading and installing, I just don't get the mysql bit... Do I have to set up a database myself?

you gotta create a database. Once you upload the software you need to run the installer.php file. it will ask you for some information and finally the user log in and password to the SQL database you made. Its rather simple actually. If you need some more help PM me.

If your host supports MySQL then in the control panel there will be an area where you can create a database. If your host uses cpanel then the user and password are usually the same as the user and pass for the cpanel.

I haven't set up an IPB for a while now, but it will somewhere ask for a location for the database (I think), if you are hosting the IPB on the same account as your MySQL database then it will be 'localhost'

ya there is a whole guide on it that comes with your installation files dude. When you buy it they have a guide for you. The hardest thing would most likely be creating a the SQL database. Theres really not much more to it than that. Unless you have an FTP that doesn't support drag and drop :P

Thats gotta be fun to do
