Personal Motivation

Throughout your life, there are many forces or experiences that drive you. Whether it be an emotionally draining situation, or a situation where your nerves are on steroids, all of our actions and reactions are built upon personal experience. So...given that...what is the current thing motivating your actions and decisions? What experience, event, or force is driving you at this moment in your life?

Just curious to see some of the different fuels behind everyone's fire :)

My motivation for mostly everything is the benefit of others. Anyone can please themselves, but it's a challenge to make others happy. My philosophy of life, is that you try to do whatever you can for other people to whatever extent, and in return, you'll lead a happy, successful life.

A strong interest in computers, as well as the motivation my 6-8th grade teacher/friend gave me. BTW, she died of cancer a couple weeks ago. :(

My motivation is the knowledge that one day I can actually make the world I live in a better place, rather than just complain about it.

My motivation is the belief that without trying, I cannot succeed, so I must always try.

My motivation is looking forward... Something nonspecific somewhere far away will happen one day, without that I would just not be bothered to go on.

I'm motivated that i can make a difference. We all have the power to make a change in the world, so why not use it to make it a better place? :)

I can't really explain my motivation, I guess its probably just to get as much out of life as I possibly can, and to be the best I can.

It's hard to explain my motivations. :/

I'm motivated by what people think of me, positively. If they're negative, I just ignore them. :)

My motivations are...

Hope. I would die if I wasn't hopeful and optimistic. I have to say to myself "it could be worse" when I have a really cruddy day (like today ;_;). Even when all goes wrong, I can still hope that I can move on and things will get better.

Beliefs. God is my motivation to act like a good person. If there wasn't a God, or if I didn't believe in God, I'd be a totally different person. If I had no God, then I would take more risks and I would ... well, I would leave. Leave my house, and just walk away. I'm not kidding.

Dreams. By this I mean that I need to have some sort of idea of what I want in life, otherwise I'd be walking around aimlessly :P I need some sort of direction, some dreams to keep me moving forward.

Friends. And crushes. I need people to like me, to notice me, to acknowledge me. I'm kind of needy when it comes to social things, but by people doing simple things during the day at school (waving, smiling, saying 'hi', whatever) I realize that there's at least one good thing in my day. I realize that I have so much to be thankful for when they do that, mostly because last year at my old school everyone thought I was weird and some hated my guts, so I'm now thankful for anything little anyone ever does to me.

I don't have motivation. At least I don't think I do.

My teacher motivates me to practice my instrument. :P

He's an excellent musician, that I want to be just like him, so I'll say he's a person that motivates me into becoming a professional musician. Also that I like playing the clarinet and alto sax. :D
