I'm posting on behalf of a board I belong to and its members. Our admin has fallen inactive (she hasn't been on since June). We've e-mailed her numerous times but she hasn't responded and it appears that she is also inactive on other sites she has accounts on. As of currently, we are unable to allow new members to post on our board or edit the forum in any way because we only have one admin and she is the only one with these capabilities. We were wondering if it would be possible for someone to make one of the current members an admin. Obviously, this is probably against policy considering you would need permission of the current administrator but seeing as how she is unable to be reached, we were wondering if you could make an exception. None of us really have anything to gain from this switch (since it's just an artists' community), we just want to be able to continue using the board. If this is impossible, we will be forced to switch boards and that would be a hassle. Board link Thanks. |

Unfortunately, if she is Member #1, this cannot be done. It is her board and doing this would be taking the board and its control away from her. In the future, it's a good lesson to remember that if you're an admin (especially board owner), you take the responsibility to inform users if you're going to be inactive or something has happened (or will happen) and take measures beforehand; otherwise, your board would suffer.
