On two different computers, in different houses, the wireless connection keeps disconnecting in order to connect to another connection for some reason... it's really annoying though... why do they do this ?

Since you diddnt get into specifics, I'll assume its Wi-Fi based.

* Are you using any encryption or MAC filtering on your router?
* Do you have the SSID set on both the router and the workstation?
* What is the make and model of the router and the NIC's that are causing the problem.

assuming your using windows XP.

Go to the wireless connection menu, which is accessible from the bottom right hand corner of the taskbar. "Double click it. There should be a listing of all the networks availble. Disconnect from the one you don't want it autoconnecting to. It should now say "manual" underneath it. Now just connect to yours. That may have been the problem.

You might need to edit the order of preferred networks. I do that sometimes.
