Yeah, I'm not touching LA at all. Some things don't need spin-offs. =/

Yeah. The first episode when the the original NCIS team came to LA to help the investigation was ok, but they didn't need to make a new series out it. Besides from what I've seen, there's many differences from the pilot and the actual show. Like the female boss in the pilot, she is replaced by "Hetty" whom (I think) the writers meant to be like a female version of Gibbs, but they failed miserably. I don't like it when the writers makes a character mimic another character. Their office is also different if Im not mistaken.

Maybe Im just being too hard on the show, but after reading that it's like a reboot of The Mod Squad, I think I'll pass.

Ew, that sounds terrible. You can't have a "female Gibbs". I hate to sound sexist (esp. being a female myself XD), but Gibbs HAS to be male. He's an alpha male, not an alpha person.

Yeah, I enjoyed the female boss in the pilot more than that old lady. Was a real shame she didn't return for the show. LA to me just feels like another cop show. The only sort of redeeming quality it has is that it usually involves some sort of "undercover" work, which can be cool.

@Doffy: There's still lots of potential storylines, especially with a character like Gibbs who's got such a lengthy history. It'd be easy for writers to come up with a "blast from the past" type thing. Also Vance, who's got a pretty mysterious past still. I think they have plenty of material.

I just dont hope they kill off Vance like they did with Jenny (I really liked her)

There is still a lot of play-out with the Vance storyline, so I wouldn't expect that to come to a conclusion any time soon.

As for the spin-off, I wouldn't consider Hetty to be a female Gibbs. Very different premises behind the characters. They axed the lead female agent from the pilot because she didn't score well with the pilot audiences. I have only caught a couple of episodes, but the cast has good chemistry and it's a successful formula, so I say kudos to them and perhaps one day I'll start to tune in.

Tony's father visited on last night's new episode. :o That's one character I was very interested to get back-story for.

Yeah, last night's episode was pretty cool with Tony's dad. I liked seeing the relationships, him and his son, Gibbs and Tony's Dad, and also Tony and Gibbs at the very end. I don't remember ever seeing those two actually spend time together outside of work. So that was pretty cool.

It reminded me of a very early episode (before McGee joined the team) where those two had a closer relationship and they had a couple scenes together at Gibbs' house.

I guess that's what they were going for. I can't remember those scenes myself though. :(

Just imagine a boat in a basement. :P
I used to love NCIS for the first 3 seasons but then it just got a bit too cuddly for me - too familiar and routine. I still watch it though and I'm still waiting for DiNozzo to get it off with Ziva.

I remember those days. That was a much cooler relationship than what it dissolved into.

The team was much smaller then. I do like the ensemble cast, though. So it's a pay-off I'm willing to take.

Ha, that probably won't happen until they reach the end of the series. :P Much like they did with the two main characters in JAG.
