Sorry if this posted twice for some reason I got an error when I posted it.

My question is kinda of long and maybe a little hard to understand. I own a website that I based an old IF board off of. Well currently my site has a forum thats run with smf which is really poor and sucky! My domain currently points to two different servers for example

www.test.com goes to my site and www.test.com/forum goes to the other server with the smf forum. Is there anyway I can do that with an IF board?

Do you have access to the DNS control panel of the server?

If you can simply change the record for "forum" and "www.forum" to point to your zetaboard server IP address, then you add the domain to your Zetaboard Admin Control Panel domain manager, your problem is solved.

I don't have dns access on my godaddy account either.

No I tried to make a subdomain though and have it pointing to my forum. When I use the preview it worked but when I type in the url it doesnt work.

1. I apologize for I just realized you said an InvisionFree forum. So you would need to change my comments from Zetaboard to InvisionFree :D

2. How did you set up www.test.com/forum to point to the existing SMF forum? Did you use the redirect function in the GoDaddy domain panel or set up an actual CNAME record?

3. Have you read through the godaddy wiki?

I did it through an HTAcess file on the server that the smf forum is on.

Then you can do the same thing for your IF forum.

It would be better if you can go to GoDaddy and add the domain via the Domain Control Panel and then set as the primary domain for the IF forum. Mod_rewrite in htaccess will get the people there though, as it is now.

If you want to go another route, you can remove the .htaccess file and instead place a php file in your "forum" folder (index.php) with the following:
Code:

<?php
header ('HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently');
header ('Location: http://___URL__to__your__IF__forum');
exit;
?>

Remember, to back-up your current .htaccess before deleting it, in case you want to go back with your original configuration.

So, in conclusion, you can do the following:
1. Set sub-domain in GoDaddy domain control panel to point to your InvisionFree forum.
2. Modify the existing .htaccess mod_rewrite to point to your IF forum rather than you SMF forum.
3. Delete the .htaccess file, add a index.php to your "forum" folder that sends the redirect header to your IF forum.

Hope this helps.

2. I made a index.php file pointing to the if board but it still doesnt work
