I think that argument has been specious. I don't think anyone is at fault here except for NBC for not giving either guy longer to get their shows rolling.
I'm in total agreement with you on this. :yes: Too many networks don't give new shows a chance to gain a following. That's why I'm happy there's alternative programming on other networks like Bravo, SciFi, USA and Lifetime. Those networks tend to give new programs a longer time frame to produce viewing numbers.

Wasn't Leno's show supposed to poor in the ratings the first few months since it is in a primetime time slot after all? Anyways, I've always liked Leno, so I hope he gets the Tonight Show back. I don't think I share the same sense of humor Conan has. :P

If people want recaps of the quips going back and forth, TV Guide has put together their favorites: http://www.tvguide.com/News/Late-Night-War-1013759.aspx

It really has led to some great comedy on late night this week. :r

Especially NBC. They'll cancel a show after the first few episodes if they don't make bank immediately. I was pissed when they stopped show The Black Donnelys after four episodes >:|

Leno made a statement on his show tonight (the text can be read here). Seems we'll know tomorrow what is happening.

Some of the latest I've heard is that FX has made overtures to Conan, although FOX would still get precedent if they can work out the issues with their syndicated material.

I'm not impressed with Leno's comments in that link you posted at all. I don't blame Conan, I blame Leno for failing and wanting his old job back.

We'll its over. Conan's last show is today. Bought out for 45 million, his staff gets 12 million of it. God, NBC is nuts, couldve used that money for helping people in Hati or some s***.

Coco ='[

Atleast hes spending NBC's money while he can, that racing horse watching football was jokes.

Funny perhaps, but I don't particularly like the whole "let's stick to the man" behavior, at least when it comes in the form of wasting millions of dollars. The economy isn't in a place where that's funny to me.

I'm curious if Conan will react to a call that was put out to him by one of the web's biggest activism websites that implored him to make a sizable donation to Haiti out of his settlement. Challenged him to beat Gisele Bundchen's $1.5 million contribution.

I'm really depressed that tonight is Conan's last show. That dude is a legend (both for TV & comedy as a whole) and I really hope to see him back on the air doing something awesome soon.

I had heard a rumor that despite being unable to return to the air until September, he would try putting together some sort of online show. That would be interesting, certainly.

I'd be interested in seeing the Tonight Show continues to do poorly in the ratings even with Leno back at the helm. Personally, I think he should retire.

Apparently those stunts are fake. Conan admitted that, during tonight's stunt (a fossil spraying caviar on an original Picasso), they were not real.

Indeed, there's no way in hell NBC would simply let Conan write all those expenses off. For example the Veyron was quite real but simply rented from an auto museum.
