I like the soundtracks from Star Wars and Indiana Jones. John Williams is a good composer (although he often steals from other music). :P

I am currently listening to a song ("adventures in solitude" by the new pornographers) which was featured in this week's episode of Ugly Betty. This gave me the idea that I want to hear from you what soundtracks you recommend (whether movie or TV). What has excellent music?

Recent soundtracks I've adored:
Revolutionary Road
Where the Wild Things Are
500 Days of Summer
Mad Men
I thought it would be nice to post links to a couple of the songs I would point to as my favorites on these soundtracks.

The song that inspired this topic: adventures in solitude
Mostly instrumental, the main theme from Revolutionary Road, found here.
My favorite from the Where the Wild Things Are movie, Worried Shoes.
I love that, I think I'll check out the entire soundtrack.

Coming into this thread, and this being the very first post I happen to lay eyes upon sickens me deeply.

American McGee's Alice
Pirates of the Caribbean
Lord of the Rings
Resident Evil (The games, not the lame movies).
World of Goo
O' Brother, Where Art Thou?
The Polar Express
Tony Hawk's Underground

Those are really the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Sorry that the last 3 aren't really "OST"s, but they're great either way.

I used to live in silence, I used to sleep in silence. Now all I hear is a marching of soldiers in my head.

Oh jeez! How could I forget this one?! It's probably the first OST I ever took an interest in.

It's one of the few that I really remember. I just started replaying the game recently for the first time in years.
