I have one member who says that his inbox at the top of the main page always shows 0, even if he has new PMs. No one else has complained of this. I have sent some test PMs to a test account and everything seems to work fine for me. Any ideas? Thank you for your help, here is our board: http://z4.invisionfree.com/CJ3B_Bulletin_Board/index.php?act=idx |

How does he know if he has new PM's? Does this happen every time he's sent a PM? Jonathan |

Hi, Thanks for the reply. The best that I can tell, he's got it set up to get an email notification when a new PM is received. When he logs into the forum, the "inbox (x)" displays 0, as in the picture below: ![]() However, when he opens his inbox, he in fact does have new, unread PMs. The member has indicated that it happens all the time. No one else has complained of this happening to them. I ran some tests between my admin account and a test account that I set up and everything seems to work fine. http://z4.invisionfree.com/CJ3B_Bulletin_Board |

Are they the only user utilising the email notification method? Can you ask them to turn this off, and try again with a new Personal Message? If they have already been notified by one method, they won't receive a second notification. It's possible the in-box count was intended to work this way when the software was created, or it could just be a bug.

Tony, I appreciate your response. I will have him try turning the email notification off. I didn't realize that there would only be one notification. Thanks! |
