Just me...

Currently im working 2 jobs, 1 as a Bar Assistant in a club and the other is a Senior Sales Assistant in a retail shop called Adams which sells clothes for children.

Job number 1 Adams, which is where i work pretty much every day has just gone into Administration (Wiki) and we might not be getting paid on Tuesday or getting the wages they owe us at all. They owe me over £700 for that month and extra from last month.

I have bills to pay and need money to get to work, taking the piss all what? They say there paying all there bills, well why cant they pay the staff FIRST considering we are the ones actually doing all the work and making sure they have money in the company bank...

If it's gone into administration then you probably should count yourself lucky as you stand a chance of getting your wages in the end (better late than never right?). If Adams had gone into Liquidation then you could have lost your job and any past wages you were owed.

Sign of the times though, and the company is doing the right thing by paying it's bills first. Should it do that, and there's money left in the tank the company will probably survive and you'll all get payed, and the majority of you should keep your job. If they were to pay the staff first, then there'd be no chance of it coming out of administration and you'll likely lose that job anyway. x_x

I saw that in one of the newspapers either yesterday or today.
My mum always went to Adam's to buy my toddler clothes, shame, it's got some decent stuff in there if you have a child.

I don't really understand how that works. Isn't it contracted that they have to pay you on certain dates.. can't they get in.. y'know... deep mud, for that?

Not in certain circumstances of bankruptcy or liquidation. If it's unable to hold up water, and has no money, they can't pay workers. If the boss is clearly embezzling, it's another story, but in most cases, you can't justifiably throw someone in jail for not being able to get customers.

What Sith said is correct, though there are easy ways of getting around that. I know someone who's on job seekers benefits (£50 a week) and EMA (£30 a week) yet her parents are doing just fine.
