Who is applying to college this year? How is the college application process going for you and have you received acceptances yet or are you still patiently waiting? :P What colleges are in your interest as well? I always find it interesting to see who applied where and where are actually going. :)

I applied last year. It was painful. Too... many... essays... :(
It got worse though when I actually tried to get some scholarships from some schools. Now, they were really good scholarships, but the questions were crazy.

I'm looking to apply at TCNJ as my main school.. if I can get my GPA up a couple points I may have a shot on their med program. (top 10% of class and and above a 700 on each part of the SAT).. problem is I've been really sick/exhausted this year so my GPA has dropped considerably. I used to have a 3.81 but now its barely above a 3.7 <_> Not to mention there are a bunch of idiots who take intro classes that have a higher class rank than me... drives me insane. They should have a negative weight to their grade

I'm talking about next fall though.. which technically this year. :P I guess you're talking about this years graduating class

Well if it's the same for the UK then I've just applied for University. I've got an interview for 3, an offer from 1 and a rejection from the only one I wanted to go to which is a shame. :(

I've already applied and been accepted into UW-WW so I'm happy. College campus visit confirmed I'm going to be heading there this fall.

I've applied for two, and go interviews for both. :)
The transition between school and college wont be that hard considering half of my current year are all going to the same college anyway. :)

Applying for college sucks. I applied to five schools, and have been accepted to two so far. Loyola University Maryland is my number one, but I won't find out about that or the rest until late March. :(

I'm curious what the range on application fees is this year. I remember it wasn't all that much when I was applying for schools in 2006-2007, but I am starting to look at grad schools and that fee is higher (whether because of the time that has passed, or the higher level of education).

If any of you haven't applied yet and are considering community colleges, I'd definitely go there to get your AA first (for US peoples). Uni is getting so expensive, my tuition is going up another 14% next year, and I'm really happy I went the community college route first. Much cheaper.. plus you get your pre-reqs out of the way.

I think I only filled out two or three applications and I got into all of them. It wasn't too painful, in my experience. The most expensive one I did was $50, but I think the others were cheaper.

Hahah, I did these already last year, but since I'm transferring schools, I have to do them all over again. They're such a huge pain, essays and all.

It's been two years since I applied for college. I applied to two. One was the one I really wanted to go to and the other was my backup. The one I really wanted to go to was the University of Texas. I wrote the best essay, had a much better application than the majority who applied, and was denied. The reason? I wasn't in the top 10% of my class... a class of 8 people. I graduated second and was only a hundredth of a percent off from being valedictorian...

However, it was not the end of the world. I went to my backup college and I absolutely love it. I love the campus, the people here, the class sizes, and I met my boyfriend who I absolutely love.

So to those people applying and getting denied, do not fret. You can always transfer... whether it be from one university to another or from a community college. Just do your best and things will work out... and just enjoy where you did end up if it's not where you expected to be.

I only applied to one college (Early Decision), got accepted, and I'm committed to attend there next fall. :)
