I am curious about your 'community,' and the extent to which one exists where you live. Do you know your neighbors? Their names? What they do for a living? Or are they merely recognizable. Perhaps you couldn't even pick them out of a lineup. As I grew up, my family was rather close to my neighbors. All of the kids in the area played together at each others homes and on the 4th of July we would have a block party. The composition of the neighborhood has changed quite a bit over the years, so we rarely see one another anymore, but we still stay in touch. |

I don't know my neighbors at all and don't really interact with them besides the occasional 'how are you doing?' Most people are my neighborhood keep to themselves besides a few places are friends with each other because of their kids. I've always been curious about my neighbor ever since the police came looking for him one day. Oh well. |

I know the next door neighbours and that is it. We recently moved here and the ones on the right are stuck up snobs, I don't know why though, there house is nothing to be stuck up about. Then on the left, we have an old woman who I saw for the first time when I offered to get her some bread and milk from the local shops during the snow. |

When I was much younger I knew most of neighbors around my area, but now many people have moved out or passed away unfortunately. I only recognize one or two neighbors now, but I rarely see them. |

When I was younger I'd play with kids down my street, but most were older than me at the time so by the time I was 10 they'd got jobs or moved away, etc. I don't pay attention to my neighbours much, I know a few but only because my parents do. But I don't know anything about them really. Just their names and any random things I overhear or whatnot. |

The area I live in is pretty tight (in the sense that most people know/get along with each other well). There's basically my house in the middle of nowhere, the house just before our drive way and then there's a little road with about 20 houses on called the grove. I guess I'm speaking from my parents point of view with this anyway as I don't speak to many people where I live, rich snobs aren't my type :L |

I doubt I've even seen the faces of my neighbors here. People seem to keep to themselves, which is certainly different considering I used to live in a pretty close community.

I know my neighbors, but I don't really hang out with them anymore. Many of my friends live in all different places in my town, and I'm more likely to make the drive to them instead.

I used to live in silence, I used to sleep in silence. Now all I hear is a marching of soldiers in my head.

Can't say I know my neighbors. I've seen them, and made some sort of contact with them but nothing to make a lasting impression. |

My parents give christmas cards to immediate neighbours and sometimes the old couple at the end of the road, but that's only because they've spoken to them randomly on the driveway or something. I have no idea what their names are, and could probably only identify 3 people by sight. Otherwise we're not exactly a tight-knight road. People seem to talk more to eachother when there is a powercut down the road, when it's covered in ice/snow. Kinda like the world of suck brings us together or something, lol. |

We've moved a lot so I've never really known any of my neighbors, save for some girls across the street in first grade. We were like best buds We've pretty much settled down (well, until I move after graduation) but we live in a crappy part of town. Also, our neighbors smoke pot and are obnoxious.

The people on my street are fairly close and everybody knows each other. During the summer everyone gets together and we usually have a Barbecue in the street and at Christmas everyone usually goes to the pub for a drink together. Because I live on a close, and there are only 9 houses it makes it quite easy to get to know people. |

I know the name of most my neighbours. In the summer they usually sit out on their porch and drink coffee and chitchat with eachother. I sometimes join, if I like the people who are there Our closest neighbours isn't invovled in our 'community' however. They have lived here about a year now and they yet to get to know anyone. One time they even came to our house and told us that we were playing music too loud. But I guess that's more polite then our old neighbour who stood outside and shouted "turn down the sound!" like a mad woman (and the music wasn't THAT loud)

We used to talk to the neighbours on one side of our house quite a lot but now generally everyone ignores each other.
