Any new members that register are automatically placed in the Members group and are suppose to be affected by the forum access mask that the Members group is placed in. Recently, though, the new members that began joining were able to see forums that are only visible to groups in a specific forum access mask. I doubled checked everything and I can't figure out why they are able to view this forum, which they aren't suppose to. Yes, I've double checked everything in the Admin Control Panel. Everything from the group settings to the forum masks. It seems that the only way I can prevent this is to manually edit each member by placing them into that forum access mask. This is really ineffective considering my forums' size. http://www.pokelightforums.com/ Any possible solutions? |

Edit your members group and check the section that says Group Permissions. Maybe something has been changed there by accident. If not, open up a support ticket with a link to this thread so that the support staff can meander through your ACP looking for strange settings. |

I've checked it once more. Nothing seems wrong. |

Did you choose a different permission set for the members ("Alternate Group") before? If so, you may want to avoid doing that--it will override the group mask. You can unselect it the same way you select more than one--with the Ctrl key (the Apple/weird-looking-squiggly key for Macs). If that's not the issue, you'll want to submit a support ticket so we can look over your settings.

I had about the same problem some time ago. They even managed to post in the threads there! My solution was that I remade the forum sections that were suppose to be off-limits to standard members and I mass moved the threads to the new section. They weren't able to see the new section but they still saw the old section that was still suppose to be off-limits, which later i removed. |

I'm sorry for double posting and bumping this thread but it seems that i was wrong my previous statement. I found out that a member (possibly more) was able to view my staff forums since January when i asked him today.... he just ignored it the whole time. Some help and advice please? |

If you're as sure as you can be that your permissions are as they should be then you would be best advised to submit a support ticket from your Admin CP so the support staff can take a closer look. |
