Most scripts, in order to use scripts on the page, must have some unsafeWindow thing in Firefox which Opera doesn't recognize; you'll need to remove that if you expect to use them. :P In general, with the exception of that, most scripts should work in both.
Some don't have that, and still fail to work.

Im not sure about the other browsers now, but Opera was the first i picked up a few years ago that had intergrated IRC , since then i've never used any other, never needed to. With a pop3 account and Opera Unite theres not much Opera can't do.

Sadly all browsers are crap. Finding a good browser would be like finding a good computer, all you can do is pick the best of a bad lot. Unfortunately browsers, like operating systems vary according to the version. About four years ago I, a happy FireFox user upgraded to the new, most wonderful, best ever, nothing will ever beat it, version of FireFox; I may just as well have loaded a virus to my poor feeble Dell. I planned to NEVER, ever use Firefox again, it was so horrific, unfortunately a couple of years later I had to. I do not use my computer for much, e-mail, very limited shopping, eBay & running some websites, unfortunately two of my main uses require either Firefox or IE and since IE is the browser equivalent of AOL this limits me to the Fox network. This computer is running Safari, of course but my old one has Safari & Firefox, when I am ready to use this one full time I will have to add Firefox here as well. Given my druthers, I would try Opera as I hear only good things about it but f it is not useable for my two primary tasks . . .

I use Opera Mini on my Blackberry, but wouldn't use it on my laptop. It's a nice browser but Chrome is far more superior in my opinion!

I think Opera looks too complicated. Just not my type of browser.

I used Opera for several years, before Opera 11 came along that is.

For such a major release, it was quite poor - no really useful enhancements or speed boosts. They had fallen behind in the speed front, and they didn't seem to be focusing on staying competitive in that department.

Ultimately, all I wanted was speed; I didn't need any chat/email functionality, which Opera seemed to devote time on, so switched to Google Chrome earlier this year.

Oh the irony, i picked Opera because of its simplicity.

I was doing a test to see if using RegExps was quicker than using multiple .splits() and to my shock, it was. Whats more shocking is that i tried the same test on Chrome and it was about 10% slower than Opera 11.

I use Opera unless I'm coding a theme or skin; Firefox is a must because of the web developer toolbar.

I use Opera here on my BlackBerry. It far surpasses the default browser, and allows me to pop on and do support tickets if I'm on the go.

Tabbed mobile browsing? Yeah. Drool. :)
