zIFBoards vs. ZetaBoards When looking for a new theme or skin for your board you must ensure that you are using the correct design for your type of board. Skins are for zIFBoards boards, and themes are used on ZetaBoards. Unfortunately these designs are not interchangeable. A ZB theme will not work on zIFBoards, and visa-versa. Go to ZetaBoards Resources If you registered your board through ZetaBoards, the copyright at the base of your board will simply say this:

What is the difference between a skin and a theme? Technically, all the templates made for both zIFBoards and ZetaBoards are themes. However, historically, zIFBoards themes have been called "skins" and those that make them, "skinners". This terminology persists today, so in searches for "skins" you will bring up zIFBoards topics, and searches for "themes" most often will yield a ZetaBoards result. What do the terms OSS and EFS mean? OSS stands for "Old School Style" OSS themes are generally very simple without a lot of theme images or special coding EFS stands for "Enhanced Fancy Style". EFS themes will have extensive gradients, fancy headers and other changes to the basic coding. |
