Another suggestion.

Sometimes when editing people's posts I don't want my edit to be seen. But if I tick the edit notice off and the person already had an edit notice from themselves then the edit notice disappears. Another suggestion would be when editing your own posts and there is already an edit notice from you instead of removing the edit notice you can keep the old one. That just bothers me and those would be very helpful.

Normal removing editing notice + Your suggestion. Personally I don't like posts with edit notice, so usually I'm editing posts to remove it.

I disagree with the first suggestion, if only for privacy and honesty reasons. Please do not change that. :P

The second... I'm not sure I see the point, but... I don't know.

I'm talking about my own posts, I don't like to show others, that I made 3 typos in one small single sentence, and I edited it one minute later to remove that typos ;)

But I like Pandorasaurus's suggestion, sometimes it can be well used, if I would want slighly edit my own or someone else post without being noticed.

I don't want the edit notice to disappear, as I want it every blue moon.

Surely for your own posts there doesn't need to be a new system? Simply turn on the ability to remove the Edit By function for your group and untick the box when editing, thus your post won't show the notice and you don't have to disable the function altogether. =P
