How close is the planet of Earth to creating fully functional robots?; You know, like AI robots that can do anything people ask?

I'm pretty sure he's not even lying haha

For fully functional human robots, probably a while from now. I don't see humans getting phased out of things that robots will be able to do on their own for a while. Once we can begin replicating the human aspect of things, so that a robot can replicate all the neural processes that humans have, I think we'll see robots, and a ton of them at that.

There's already fully functional robots out there. Heck I saw one last year mowing the lawn of a farm. However, I interpretated this question as being a fully humanoid robot capable of communicating on an equal level with us. (So I voted for < 100 years from now.)

Some interesting examples on youtube: Justin, Actroid-F, 5 year old robot, Swarm bots

Scared yet?
