So, this new upgrade is set to come out this summer. How many of you are planning on upgrading? Or, if you're getting a Mac, will you be waiting until the summer? I haven't done too much reading on this, but it seems like the "major" upgrades (i.e. 10.5 -> 10.6) are usually pretty decent.

I think this will be epic. And the Back to the Mac Keynote was supposed to be a small preview Only thing I don't like so far is combining Spaces into Expose and renaming Expose. A little bloated app there. I will not upgrade unless I get a new Macbook, lol. |

So far, I'm not that impressed. That Mission Control looks cool, but ⌘+Tab works fine and I have my corners set up to do various things so it's still not really needed. |

I desperately need a new Mac before I want to upgrade to Lion. My Intel mini (1.66GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 500GB HD) is gaining on 6 years old. 15" MBP here I come. |

Apple changed it's website, including a marble menu bar instead of Mac metallic. Possible hint at Lion GUI/multiple themes? |

I may update... I'm still sitting on 10.5.8..... and if lion is released at $30, I'll get it. It will be a good excuse to buy a new HD

I'm not sure if I feel good or bad about that. Maybe, but I doubt it. lightsilver: Just get a new HD regardless. Internal or external? And, do you know if your OS is 64-bit? I know a friend tried to upgrade from 10.4 to 10.6, but it wouldn't work unless he wiped his HD beause of going from 32-bit to 64-bit.

I think I have a 64-bit.... Doesn't matter though, I'd be getting the new drive to use as external, and using this current one as external. Maybe a SSD, who knows. The only thing about the HD, is that I'll have to buy a new case tooooooo...... and 2.5" drives just seem like such a rip compared to 3.5..... also I want my own RAID server T__T |

do you mean for every program you download? never going to happen. that's out of apple's hands. windows doesn't have a unified GUI, neither does linux or OS X. All of the three have pretty consistent GUIs for things that they, themselves have written and designed. But it's totally in the hands of developers. |

I think he might mean Quicktime X, dock right clicking, and apps like iPhoto with a dark GUI. I'm hoping that the dark GUI was a transition to 2 themes. |

I would love to remind you of the Mac Store and iTunes debacle where their traffic lights, and GUI are so out of touch with the Apple Human Interface Guidelines... |

I actually like the idea of removing the title and toolbar minimize button and then adding the toolbar to the title bar in apps that never change the title text. I hope this becomes available for all apps in lion. |
