On my forum, I want "Guest" to be able to view ONLY two parts of the forum but without them being signed in. They are applications for them to view and fill out. I have it checked that everyone has to sign in on the forum for them to be able to view it, but, I also had guest able to view the two parts available to them. I signed out of my account and it wouldn't let me view anything. So then I unchecked that everyone has to be signed in and signed out again, and as a guest it was letting me see the whole forum, even though thats not what the permission mask was set to. How do I get it to where the guest don't have to sign up, but can still view the forum part? |

Open up your AdminCP, and go to Forum Access (under the heading Users & Groups). Once there, make sure your Guest usergroup is allocated under the Guest permission mask. If that is fine, then select Edit next to the permission mask and make sure only the two forums that you wish Guests to have access to have ticks next to them. All other sections should have no checks next to them. Also, could you please provide your board URL? |

http://z15.invisionfree.com/Intelfleet And actually, I have a Invisionfree board...as you can see. (posted in the incorrect area) Thank you for your help though. But everything is correct in those places. But is there even a way to do it if I want everyone to be logged in and validated? Is there a way for them to be a "guest" while they are waiting for validation maybe? |

Then it's under Forum Control -> Permission Masks. Choose the mask you want to update. Click Edit. Then choose The View Option on the Guest Permission mask. The View checked, makes it to where they can view it, but not reply. Set that for whatever you want your guests to view, and leave it unchecked for ones that you don't. |

It's because you turned the option on that all members must log in before they can see the forums. This overrides the options you set for guest permissions.... because no one is able to see your forums unless the login or register. So turn this off again. Then if you have those two forums checked as guest viewable, then that's all guests will see. Once people sign in, they will see all the forums (if you have set the permissions like this of course XD). |

I tried to turn off where everyone had to sign in, and guest could only view the two forums they have permission to, but for some reason it was letting me view the whole forum. I went back to check, and the permission was still only for the two forums. |
