I'm going to port this thread over from support. :P

AT&T, America's second largest carrier is buying America's 4th largest carrier T-Mobile!!! WOW. Didn't see that one coming especially after all of the T-Mobile merging with Sprint rumors.

The merger will make AT&T America's largest carrier with 130+ Million users....a record Verizon JUST claimed the title of after it acquired Altell a few months ago.

AT&T just announced that they're buying T-Mobile from Deutsche Telekom for $39 billion. The deal makes AT&T the largest network in the country by far (adding 33 million T-Mobile subscribers to AT&T's 95 million, comparatively Verizon has 94 million), leaves only three major US carriers and, well, technically gives T-Mobile users a real 4G strategy in LTE. No specific details on how AT&T will juggle the transition and what it means for T-Mobile customers yet.

Are you on T-Mobile or AT&T, will this affect your contract status? What do you think about the merger?

Breaking news: Verizon buys Sprint :P

More competition is a good thing. At least Verizon will have to get more competitive, to draw in some AT&T customers.

If Verzion buys Sprint, I'll be in Heaven.

It's totally possible too.

I think it's TM and AT&T - GSM
Version and Sprint - CDMA

Aww man! I'll miss the T-Moblie commercials (the one spoofing the Mac/PC commercials of a few years back that absolutely trashed AT&T). Strange that after all that, AT&T ended up acquiring them... Tough love I guess, lol.

T-Mobile's network is sketchy though (at least around here). I don't see AT&T gaining any ground on Verizon in buying it, I mean sure, they'll absorb T-Mobile and take their customers. I just don't see anyone jumping around trying to get a phone with T-Mobile hahaha. :pirate:

You may have seen it by now, but Verizon has stated that they have no interest in even trying to acquire Sprint.
