Is it possible to have this code work in the Board Template instead of on the Themes? I have a few skins on my forum and I'd like to be able to apply it to all of them and easily update the data in one place, instead of having to edit every skin every time something changed. If not possible that's cool. Just wondering. (I tried playing with it myself and had some fail) |

Put the HTML in the Board Template Above the Board wrapper. Put the CSS in the Javascripts wrapper between the style tags: Add this to the Below the Board wrapper: Do note, applying the sidebar to every theme the results could vary depending on how the theme is coded. |

Can you make a code for all of the following? 1: A box that will display the staff member's avatar, name, and group name in content box #1 (Titled "Staff Online Now") 2: Newest thread in a specific forum in content box #2 (Titled "Site News") 3: Same thing for content box #3 (Titled "Anime News") 4: Same thing for content box #4 (Titled "Gaming News") 5: Newest Status updates in content box #5 (Titled "Member Statuses") Also make it so it's on the right and not the left, works in theme Layout, and make it so I can add more boxes in the future. For starters, that will require 5 AJAX requests on every page load and that's excluding fetching the staff members avatars, which will require even more AJAX. |

This AJAX crap is really annoying. So out of what I asked, what is possible? |

It's all possible, it just takes up more server resources and could make your board run slower. Basically anything that needs to be grabbed from one page to another will require AJAX. |

Well currently my staff isn't large and usually 3 are on at the same time, max. As for #2-5...where do those stand? |

Four AJAX requests, probably five actually to use a $.get() request on the current page the user is viewing so the users online list 'location' will be accurate. |

That depends, do you want your board loading five pages in the background every page load? http://support.zathyus.com/topic/5098519/1/ The code submission guidelines only suggest using one per-page load. |

Could you just do #2-4 and allow it to slide down to open the whole thread's content (Just the post, not the Topic creator's profile and all of that) Edited by Kankuro, Dec 9 2014, 03:09 PM.

On pages with less text, it's not fitting properly on either of my themes. The site ends but the sidebar continues on (readily seen while looking at users online as seen here) http://oi60.tinypic.com/msjij5.jpg |

The nature of what I am utilizing the sidebar for and what content is held within it, is too important to be just displayed on the index. Thanks for the helpful idea though
