To affect what forums a user sees depending on a post requirement, create a new group based on your "Members" group (Admin CP > Users & Groups > Groups > Make New Group, Base Settings Off Of: Members). Then, set the original "Members" group to be promoted to the new group you just created after 10 posts. (In the edit group preference page, near the bottom, a section titled "Automatic Promotions"; select the new group for the "Promote to:" setting and enter 10 posts for the second box) You will also have to create a separate forum access mask (Admin CP > Users & Groups > Forum Access > Create New Permission Set) for each group - the original "Members" group and the new group. Once the new access mask is made, you can edit it to enable it to View (see the forum on the index), Read (actually view the topics within the forum), Reply, Post New Topics, and Upload from there. Hope this helps.

The new group you made will be for users who are above that 10 post count limit. There is a "Built-In" Member group that cannot be deleted. When members register, they are automatically placed into that group. (It will appear like this in your AdminCP.) You have to edit the "Built-In" group so that it is promoted to the new group you created once 10 posts have been reached. |
