Recently I've had major problems with iTunes. I played one particular song a few days ago and halfway through the song stopped playing and iTunes froze, causing my laptop to end up going into a blue screen because it couldn't unfreeze. Tried iTunes again with that song, and it froze in the same spot again, this time freezing the laptop again but not to the point it shut down, just ended up disabling a program called SuperFetch which meant I had to restart the laptop anyway for things to run right. Today I opened iTunes and intended to remove this song, but upon so much as trying to uncheck it from playing, the program froze and gave me a blue screen again. I can't seem to be able to touch this song, and I've not encountered this with other songs before I started with this one. Newer and older songs than this one work fine (at least they did, I don't have the patience to try opening iTunes to play other songs to see, but I played others before I got to this song the first time and nothing happened then), just seems to be this. I know I could just avoid the song, but I would like to know what could possibly cause this? My laptop has nothing nasty in it from what I can tell by scans I've run, so it isn't something like that from what I can tell. :-/ |

Try re-installing iTunes or download the latest version from www.apple.com |

Well I had the latest version as I was aware. I did a few things that could help find problems on the iTunes site, and when they didn't work good I removed iTunes, tried WMP and got the same problem. I ran an error check as advised by some laptop expert, and have yet to get iTunes back. I'm guessing the song itself was corrupted somehow, but if so I'll just get the song back by getting a new copy. |
