I bought an Asus in February. On May 1, it suffered a light drop. That was the end of the monitor. I sent the computer in to Asus and I got an estimate on Friday: $175. I paid $260 for the netbook. Any of you have problems with Asus? |

Regardless of what you pay for the computer the screen is always one of the most expensive things to have to replace. |

Asus in the US comes with an one year accidental damage warranty, did you try that route? The only problem I had with Asus was with Zone alarm in Windows 7 64bit kept on causing BSoD, in my other 64bit 7 laptop never had that issue. |

They said I didn't have any warranty that would cover that. I'm getting a tablet soon. Probably an Android. |

I have a 7" Galaxy Tab and love it Would've waited for the 10" but costs too much and the 7" is more portable as it fits in most pockets.

I don't want to hijack your thread, feel free to tell me to shut up but how is the Acer? I am saving up for an Asus or Acer, would you mind telling me how it's working out, I know it's only been less than two weeks. |

I've never used Asus, but I am contemplating purchasing a portable computer, versus my desktop, and I have looked at them a bit. They seem to be good, and have good reviews thus I've read, and from talking to people I know. |
