I bought an Asus in February. On May 1, it suffered a light drop. That was the end of the monitor. I sent the computer in to Asus and I got an estimate on Friday: $175. I paid $260 for the netbook.

Any of you have problems with Asus?

Regardless of what you pay for the computer the screen is always one of the most expensive things to have to replace.

Asus in the US comes with an one year accidental damage warranty, did you try that route?

The only problem I had with Asus was with Zone alarm in Windows 7 64bit kept on causing BSoD, in my other 64bit 7 laptop never had that issue.

They said I didn't have any warranty that would cover that.
I'm getting a tablet soon. Probably an Android.

I have a 7" Galaxy Tab and love it :D Would've waited for the 10" but costs too much and the 7" is more portable as it fits in most pockets.

I don't want to hijack your thread, feel free to tell me to shut up but how is the Acer? I am saving up for an Asus or Acer, would you mind telling me how it's working out, I know it's only been less than two weeks.

I've never used Asus, but I am contemplating purchasing a portable computer, versus my desktop, and I have looked at them a bit. They seem to be good, and have good reviews thus I've read, and from talking to people I know.
