The only thing wrong with Dell is that they overprice their computers and lock their BIOS (meaning no overclocking).

Apple is also renowned for overpricing their stuff. *looks at Andrew* :D

Also, don't even think about installing that McAfee rubbish. It's nothing but bloatware that will slow your PC down. Go for an antivirus such as Kaspersky or Malwarebytes.
Even the free Microsoft Security Essentials is pretty good.
I agree about the MSE, it's the first program of it's kind that I've used which doesn't use a lot of CPU and doesn't interfere with my normal daily web browsing. I use Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes (to scan), CCleaner and Defraggler, those 4 programs do everything I need to keep my laptop running well. I have a Dell right now and it will be my last from that company directly. I've had about 4 of them and 2 of those 4 were replacements from Dell because the originals developed problems that were so bad that eventually it got to where they weren't repairable.

I ended up with the 2 Dells that I actually purchased at separate times because of how much each of them cost and how badly they were needed. There are times when you can get pretty good referb deals from them with coupons and such if you check out places like Slickdeals.

I think my next purchase in the distant future(4 years probably) will be a custom build from ibuypower.com

È una trappola!

You won't find a good gaming GPU that's for a laptop. Notice the 'M' on the end. That card is far less powerful than my two-year-old card at the moment. :P

Laptops are meant to be portable. And they have very specific PSU and heat requirements... it's a tough thing to build a good laptop that isn't entirely worthless as far as portability goes.

My suggestion: get a decentish/cheap laptop for toting around and use a desktop whenever possible.

Yes, you can generally upgrade RAM. Now, I haven't done so with this particular laptop, but even apple allows users to upgrade RAM. So basically, if you can't upgrade the RAM, I would be super surprised. Like, really, really surprised.

It's not like you can't do ANY gaming whatsoever on it, there is still some reasonable performance on most games at least. You should be glad you aren't stuck with an Intel integrated gpu anyway.. *shudders*. :p
the HD3000s in the new second gen i series processors are actually pretty awesome.
