Board Address: http://s4.zetaboards.com/iwgc/index/
Board Software: ZetaBoards
Description: There isn't a whole lot of documentation on the Auto Tool system so I hope that someone can help with this. I would like a tool that can automatically make a reply to a post in a certain forum that would make it easy to post a score. I would like for any member to be able to use it and not have it be restricted to a certain member group. Is this possible to do with the Auto Tool System that is currently in place?

I would like for the following text to appear as a pre-written message (without the quotes):

"Round #?

Name: Score (OFFICIAL) playing in ? mode.
Name: Score (OFFICIAL or FUN) playing in ? mode.

OPTIONAL- Whatever other good sportsmanship message or game account information."

If I need a script to accomplish this, I would like the member to be able to fill in the information requested and then choose the post to reply to, say from a dropdown list. If I could have it so I could add my own links to the individual posts on that list that would be fantastic.

I hope I explained this properly. Let me know if you need me to clarify anything. Thanks!

You can accomplish this with a topic autotool, then add forum moderators to allow the usage of autotools.

I know I can do that, but I can't make all of my members moderators to do it it doesn't appear to be something that is allowed.

I'm not sure what you mean, the second link I linked to shows you how to add individual users or groups as forum moderators. All you have to do is allow the usage of the autotool, they don't have to have any of the other moderator permissions. You can also remove the "Forum Led by:" text with a code so it doesn't seem as if they're moderators.

When I click on groups to edit the "Member" group, and under "Special Abilities" there is no option there to manage them. I think it is because it is a built-in group.

To have to go in and edit all of them would be a bit time consuming and then having to remember to do it when someone new joins too, I need to simplify this. As it is I will have to change out the posts that need the special replies since they change from week to week.

You're right, the build-in Members group does not have that option. What you could do is create a new group based on the built-in Members group, then move all members to the new group. That way, you'll be able to add group forum moderators.

Okay, I just tested the auto tool feature and while it does post the pre-written message below it does not allow it to be filled in BEFORE it gets posted. So an auto tool is not what I need.

I need something that will allow the following to be filled in by the member:

"Round #?

Name: Score (OFFICIAL) playing in ? mode.
Name: Score (OFFICIAL or FUN) playing in ? mode.

OPTIONAL- Whatever other good sportsmanship message or game account information"

and then have a list of posts available to post the reply to. Something that I can edit the links to the threads myself since I have to change them out every week.

Better yet, when they go to a specific post there could be a button that says "Post My Score" next to the Add Reply button already under the thread and in the fast reply box. That might even be easier to code than the other way.

There is the "Require this post to be edited before posting..." option, but I think it's broken.

I believe you are correct Cory, it is broken. I set it up to be edited before posting and didn't get to edit it. It just posted the pre-written text.

Just so whomever sees this understands, the Auto-Tool feature doesn't work properly. So, I am in need of a script. I hope someone can help me.

Thanks.

so let me get this strait, you want the template to be editable, and then automatically post it to a topic?

could you highlight what parts are to be edited. in this

"Round #?

Name: Score (OFFICIAL) playing in ? mode.
Name: Score (OFFICIAL or FUN) playing in ? mode.

OPTIONAL- Whatever other good sportsmanship message or game account information."

[edit] do you have CAPTCHA enables because i don't think my mod will work with it enabled.

Hi Quozzo :)

No, I don't have CAPTCHA enabled. My members would kill me lol.

I'll highlight the editable text in purple:

OFFICIAL Round #: ? AM or TPT/X: ?

Name: Score
Name: Score (OFFICIAL or FUN)

OPTIONAL- Whatever other good sportsmanship message or game account information you would like to add: ??

I hope I did that right. :D The purple parts are what the person would have to fill in for the post.

put this Below the Board and then make an autotool called "Score"
Code:

<script type='text/javascript'>
$('button[name=btn_amt_menu]').click(function(){
if($('select[name=amt_menu] option:selected').text() == "Score"){
$('body').append("<div class='lightbox' style='background-color: white; border-radius: 10px; text-align: left; padding: 10px; position: fixed; bottom:50%; left:35%; width:30%; z-index:999;'>OFFICIAL Round #: <input name='input1' /> AM or TPT/X: <input name='input2' /><br /><br /><input name='input3' /><br /><input name='input4' /><br /><br />OPTIONAL- Whatever other good sportsmanship message or game account information you would like to add: <input name='input5' /><br /><br /><button onClick='sendit()'>Send</button></div><div class='lightbox' style='background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0.5);position:fixed;width:100%;height:100%;z-index:998;bottom:0%;left:0%;'></div>");
return false;
};
});

function sendit(){
var topic = $('form:first').attr('action').split("t=")[1];
var forum = $('input[name=f]:first').val();
var content = "OFFICIAL Round #: "+$('input[name=input1]').val()+" AM or TPT/X: "+$('input[name=input2]').val()+"\n"+$('input[name=input3]').val()+"\n"+$('input[name=input4]').val()+"\n\nOPTIONAL- Whatever other good sportsmanship message or game account information you would like to add: "+$('input[name=input5]').val();
$('.lightbox').remove();
$.get(main_url+"post/?mode=2&type=1&f="+forum+"&t="+topic,function(d){
$.post(main_url+"post/",{mode:2,type:1,f:forum,t:topic,emo:1,ast:$("input[name=ast]",d).val(),xc:$("input[name=xc]",d).val(),post: content,q:0,qhash:$("input[name=qhash]",d).val(),sd:1,fcolor:'',helpbox:'Quote Text',zbpost:0,attach1:'',mod_opts:'',sig:1,post_submit:''});
location.replace(location.href);
});
};
</script>

I am pretty sure I installed this correctly :D . I put the code where you said and made a Topic Autotool. I left the settings for the tool at the default, except that I limited the tool to only be used in the forums where posting a score applies.

From the main forum page when I select the tool I get the pop-up to fill in the form. When I click send, it doesn't post.

From the topic view when selecting it from the quick/add reply box, I don't get the pop-up window at all.

I hope I explained that right. Here is where I have them installed:
