Why do people STILL code Invisionfree?

Why are people still coding for Invisionfree? It's obvious ZetaBoards is the NEW forum software and that's what users here want. Trust me I know how lengthy it is to 100% code a ZB theme compared to coding an Invisionfree skin. Why are people still doing it though? Almost nobody uses Invisionfree anymore, it doesn't get any updates, and basically it's spam to post an Invisionfree skin. Why don't you put your design & coding skills to use and collaborate on ZB themes instead of wasting your and everybody else's time on IF.

InvisionFree is still used, probably not as much as ZetaBoards, but still. Coding an IF skin doesn't take too much work, aside from fixing the quirks and kinks it may have from time to time. I do agree that ZetaBoards should be more of a focus since it's new and likely more used, but the fact that I see resources requests for IF boards means it's still used. I don't think IF resources should be abandoned because of that, but I do agree that more focus should be put on ZB.

While most people feel that ZetaBoards is far superior, there are a still few out there who either like InvisionFree better, or like coding InvisionFree more. IF skins still get used, maybe not as much as ZB but some people simply like it better.

I love InvisionFree. :)

I don't know the stats, but I had always thought InvisionFree was more hustle and bustle than sister ZetaBoards. The number of support tickets we receive for InvisionFree is typically equal to or greater than the amount of ZB tickets.

*shrugs* :D

Invisionfree is insanely popular in the writing roleplaying games niche, at the top with (icky) Proboards. I love Zetaboards, and will never ever convert back, but Invisionfree is (at least in the WRPG world) one of THE most popular forum softwares and beats it's baby brother in that market. There are 1042 WRPG and non-WRPG forums listed at RPG-D for example, and most of them will be either Proboards or Invisionfree. A few will be Zetaboards, but even ZB is beaten by j cink.

I personally swear by Zetaboards. *shrug* Nerdy/geeky moment over XD

I quite enjoy coding for Invisionfree more.
It isn't much effort, a skin conversion from ZB to IF is just a few hours hence why I do them.
It's fun.

The only boards I seen that still use IF are RPG boards. It stems from the choice to not allow users to use dohtml on Zetaboards as that is a common complaint in that circle. I don't even need to see the rest of the board in the screenshot to know that is a RPG board.

That's why some might not see a point in still supporting IF because there really isn't any support for IF as far as the rest of the board genres go.

I don't think that is true. I've run across quite a few foreign gaming boards that are using InvisionFree, and many are quite large.

We tend to have a narrow view of both softwares, I think, that doesn't take into account market circles we don't move in ourselves.
