It would be nice to have an archive of processed reports (from the Report CP) so other staff and admins can see what another staff member did, what the report reason said, etc. Just a handy little archive would be much appreciated.

Agree!

That is why my Report CP is FULL of reports. Until that feature is added to ZetaBoards, I am not planning to delete any reports.

I couldn't stand to have uncompleted reports that were really completed in the RCP, so I do complete them now. I definitely wouldn't though if this feature was added.

Yes, please. I'd love to have this.

I haven't had any reports filed on my board yet, but I can definitely see how having them vanish would be annoying. I like knowing how things were handled!

"PLES RING IF AN RNSER IS REQIRD."

Hi there,

I genuinely don't see need for this as it can just as easily be tracked through complete warn notes, as long as you encourage your staff team to use them.

Simply put, some people want logs of everything, others want logs of nothing. If there is a log of everything, then the need for those to be deletable is frequently requested. If we do make them deletable, people delete things on "accident" and then request restorations.
I think the simple fact is that an archive of reports is unnecessary, especially if you get garbage reports. Can you imagine? Somebody reports a porn post and you have to see it in the archives forever. Or have to delete that archive entry, as well. Then you have that same problem with deletion again.

I think it's more headache than it's worth. Creating a history is something you can easily do, and implement, on your own board's level with your staff team and features already present on ZetaBoards.

If you want to keep logs of your reports, just make a private sub-forum or something and just keep it in posts. I do a thread for the month, and for each individual report, I make a post. Nice, simple and organized. Then I can remember what punishment I gave for what.

I do agree with Nicolas. It does seem like a hassle.

Hello Nicolas!

Unfortunately I must disagree with You. Generally You are right, but not.

Warn notes is a one tool, and RCP another. Warn Notes only is for punishment. I need to search through all my Members to find the exact reasoning I am looking for. With RCP archive everything I have in one place.

Also not every report is valid. Some of them are not. I would want to keep them too. For example to see who is on my board reporting posts. Also to know who is abusing this feature. This goal I may not achieve using Warn Notes.

Not to mention that "encourage your staff team to use them" is not an easy task at all. I will show You an example. Since a few years I am trying to encourage my staff team to write their own username when sending a PM through Warn Panel. I think that I do not need to mention that I completely failed?

I am one of that kind of people, who want logs of everything. If some people want logs of nothing, they simply do not need to use them at all. And yes, I would want to have, Admin controlled, ability to delete some reports. Of course I also understand the pain behind restorations. But personally I would limit it only to topics. Honestly I would need to be very, and very mad and crazy, if I would force Support Team to restore my deleted reports, especially that ones that are not affecting the board at all.

I do not divide my reports at all. All reports are exactly same important, there is none of "good report" and "garbage report". And I do not mind having porn report in RCP or archive. This is just a normal report like every other. I do not need to see it over and over, and enjoy that. Every report is a single case therefore I would need to access directly it to be able to see it. Also sooner or later it will be buried by all other reports I will receive. Also, if I can be a little malicious now, better for a young man is having porn post at his own board than needing to search it in the net, risking his PC being attacked by viruses.[/malicious]

Yes, every Admin can create a RCP history by his own. But this is a time eater. Of course I do not want to compare "Brandon's time he will spend making this feature" with "Admin's time making their own history" but I think that in the very end this feature, once released, will be enough popular. At least by Admins who will know how to use it.

A while ago, in my "Version 1.0 topic" I suggested that things:

Nemo

1. Group setting: Groups that can submit reports

Like title says, one of the settings while creating new/editing group could be, if that group can submit reports or not. As for now every group can submit reports, so malicious user can spam our Report CP to the death. With that setting, I could control, who can submit reports, and who cannot.

Nemo

2. Other: Inline Moderation in Report CP

Also, would be great, if we could "Complete Report" for many reports at once. Just in case someone will Report 150 posts with a reason of "Ha!".

Nemo

3. Group setting: Groups that can view reports

Setting, what groups can view and manage reports. In case that I want given user be able to see and manage them, while that user is not a Forum Moderator (or higher) or is Moderator of different forum. Report CP should itself control "Report Actions: Topic: ; Apply an AutoTool: Member: ; Topic: ", so even users, who normally cannot Moderate given forum still can moderate reported posts.

Also setting, which Member AutoTools and Topic AutoTools and Topic Moderation (and I don't see possibility to Delete Post, I only can edit it) can appear in Report CB, controlled by every group that can access Report CP.

Nemo

4. Group setting: Reports history

Completed reports are not disappearing completely but they are still accessible by Staff. Special setting, which groups, who can access Report CP, can delete or make once again given Report could be welcome.

Nemo

5. Other: Username formatting in Report CP page

At main page, where all the reports are listed, not only while viewing given report.

Nemo

Users may not report their own posts. That's bad. Sometimes user may make double post accidentally and he would want the doubled post deleted, but he cannot report it. So, Staff may not delete it until someone will report it (or they will notice it themselves). Report feature should be available for all the posts, not only other user posts.

Nemo

Notice: You reported the post.

This notice should be displayed, whenever user sends Report.

====

{Report}{Delete}{Edit}

Because the Edit button is the most commonly used button, it should be at the end of set.

However purpose of this topic was slightly different. Whenever Member has many posts to report, he may not know which ones already are reported, which ones already are not, or generally, if the report was sent or not.

As You can see, through that few years I am spamming here, I cared much about Report CP feature how to make it more Admin-friendly.

This is not a problem at all. It is a matter of habit. Sooner or later You will know, if there are any new reports, or not.
