Okay I'm really sorry if this is in the wrong place but I notice that alot of people like to violate the following rule in the ToS: "Your signature, including all images and text, must fit inside this box of 550x150 pixels." So why not add this line of code to your CSS:

Code:

td.c_sig img {
max-height:150px;
max-width:550px;
}

Now, your staff can worry about support tickets and fixing their own signature violations instead of warning members about them because now, the images will re-size themselves if they go over the allotted height/width! Please move this if this topic is in the wrong place

Completely agree, however it won't stop people using multiple images.

If we can get one that removes over sized avatars like yours Dakota I would support it :)

Do I desire to learn the motive behind this insanity?

Seems like a nice idea. Though it'd be a simple change, I'm all for it.

That rule is typically quite loosely enforced, and usually only signatures that are obviously quite a bit over the size limit are removed. It's not that much of a timesink, because we don't generally even check signatures with the reference. :P (Although we do have the facilities to do so easily, so that's fun.)

Idgi

My avatar is 100px in height. My avatar is 100px in width. My avatar is 29.02k, or more specifically, 30,011 bytes. It does not break any of the following rules: "Avatars should be no more than 35 KB in file size." , "Please keep avatars and signatures family friendly." , "Do not use flashing images in your avatar or signature; these may cause problems for photo-sensitive users."

Good day to you, sir.

Oh and EA, if it's so loosely checked, then why not just add the CSS? Now you won't have to put in more effort to do so.

It used to be 25KB. Perhaps Kezzie hasn't read the rules in a while and wasn't aware of the increase. :P

Tsk tsk tsk. All up in my suggestion thread trying to tell me I'm breaking the rules when I nicely wrote up some CSS for the board.

Dakota, your line of CSS will resize some images but not whole signatures that are over the size limit.
Also, since Helena was using the table tag - it stretches to be as wide as the board is (or your browser is). Likewise, it contracts appropriately.
So it's a loophole in the rule for width because of the behaviour of the table tag, and I think you need to stop looking for fights with staff.

I know that it won't resize the whole signature area, just the image, at first I assumed that but Nicola told me it'd just be the images.
Can I use the table tag too?
I'm not looking for staff fights tbh I just wanted to point this out. As long as I can use the same table code Halena is using then I will be fine
