Add the inline moderation like the one in IPB. Easy to use and efficient. :P

That's unneeded bloat.

Here are some fresh ideas that I think you should incorporate into Forumsoft:

  • Topsite list
  • Tutorial index system
  • A "main site" built into the board - (Portal)
  • Shops, arcade, and reputation points would be a plus
  • A chat room that is built into the board - Displays usernames and such on the board
  • Everything has has to be secure
  • Custom pages - (Error pages, board messages)
  • Forum search
  • Affiliate system - Randomly displays affiliates on the board (possibly integrated into the topsite system)
All of the above features could be enabled or disabled depending on the administrator through a board control panel that also controls the features I've stated above.

Agreed. Although it's a handy addition, there's nothing wrong with the old 1.3 moderation system.

1.3's moderation system? It's more or less every forum's system, except for vB and IPB now. But I agree, I rather have it old fashioned.

Bloat isn't only bloat when it's on, it's also bloat when it's off. Most of your ideas are best left for mods.

Holy junk, I actually had a dream last night that you were going to do this. :o Anyways, try to make it as secure as possible and I also like the quick search feature that is on vbulletin. A reputation system wouldnt hurt either.

Hello.

I can only think of a few features.

  • A search feature similar to vBulletin
  • Possibly a reputation system
  • A lot of optional features, like category drop down. (I don't really like it)

Other that, I hope it comes out as a safe and secure forum program. Good luck. ^_^

- Nice forum layout
- Ability to easily create skins.

Basically, whatever you do, make it easy to use.

Or how about like vBulletin, where you can skin the AdminCP, as well?

Or just leave it like IPB and have no skinnable ACP...I've heard about people skinning their ACP incorrectly and then losing access to some features.
