http://if.invisionfree.com/topic/5122143/1/#new You might want to take a good look at that topic. http://tachyondecay.net/php/bin/serverstatus.php You can check the status of the servers by going to that link if it seems like the server is offline. I imagine the slowdown is due to Denial of Service attacks against the server. You and your members will just have to be patient and wait it out. |

s1 hasn't had any attacks that have affected performance in the time period you're referring to. Do you currently have a ticket open for this issue? I'd be happy to take a closer look and see if we can isolate the cause. |

Honestly, since at least a week (when for the last time there where a lot of topics about s4) server 1 works for me VERY slow. No matter of the board, because I have some test boards on s1 and all of them are slow. |

No. It was converted from IF's z1, and so it is on s2. |

i have submitted tickets about s1 for about 3 years. submitted one on the 9th of this month and was told to not submit anymore tickets about this slow server. right now it's too slow to use. what is the logic of submitting tickets when the reply is, "Please do not submit multiple tickets regarding the same issue.",,,and that was the only ticket i submitted that day. if the "issues" were resolved, instead of resolving the ticket with that response, then we would have no "issues" would we? |

Submitting a support ticket regarding a server issue isn't really helping anything. All you do is point out the obvious to people who don't have control over the servers. The only one with control over the servers is Brandon and he's not the one you are talking to when you submit a support ticket. What you actually do is clog up the support ticket forum with tickets that can't be dealt with and are hampering the support ticket service for those with issues that support staff can handle. It's probably why they don't want you making tickets regarding server downtime or slowdown. Don't take this post as an encouragement to harass Brandon about it as that won't do anything for you either. Just thought I would add this part in. Edited by Bluezone777, Aug 11 2011, 12:07 PM.

I agree with the above post, but support tickets don't reach Brandon?

Brandon can see support tickets. But 99.9% of the time, a member of the Support team will deal with your ticket first. There is a special section for tickets that require Brandon's attention that our support staff move those tickets to. |

doesn't matter. when a post here is made suggesting S1 is slow, the question is asked , "have you submitted a ticket?" , then when you submit a ticket you're told not to submit anymore tickets. yeeeehaw! we havin fun yet? i've abondoned the board, the members can have it, i paid for ad free service for almost 3 years....and it sucks...me and S1 have parted ways |

@Stephen Oh, I see. You know, I have a suggestion about server status. Maybe there should be a page with a check feature, where members here can leave a "check" when a server is down, just so that it can notify staff members as soon as they log in, and go check the server status. The point is that it doesn't matter if several people check it because it will all show up on the same page anyway, separate from the board. Then the staff can turn it back to unchecked and clear the check log. Edited by cvn-tv-dip, Aug 12 2011, 01:02 AM.

3 years? you have been complaining about server 1 slow up problems for 3 years crayj? well that isnt encouraging. Let me ask this are there any successful large boards on server 1? Can a board grow to a decent running size with all these posting issues? Ive been having to delete a lot of hiccup double posts due to the slow server. My understanding is you cant switch a board over to a different server without losing all the board info post count correct? Are there new boards being added to server 1 still? How on earth is Brandon able to fix the problem? I guess I just need someone to say to me frankly if this really is how its going to be: "stop reporting, server 1 will always have this problem, because there is no fix." because I hate having to do support tickets or complain here if Im reporting something that no one can do anything about |

As far as I can tell, server 1 has been running fine for quite a while, and this cropping up is relatively new. Boards cannot be transferred among servers. New boards are not registered on s1 at this time. It'll be a while before it's s1's turn again. DoS attacks are pretty nearly impossible to guard against. We can do what we can to stop many of them, but due to the nature of them, it'll never be possible to stop all of them. That said, Brandon is doing the best he can to implement defenses against these attacks. |
