It is funny that I did not found this suggestion yet. But I have found a topic, there are some great suggestions for Portal: http://if.invisionfree.com/topic/5052983/1/. Unfortunately this topic is dead since the middle of 2009. But it is worth to read its first message. Anyway, my suggestion is that Administrators should be able to disable certain boxes there. Preferences --> Portal: - Online Users Location - Board Stats Location - Recent Topics Location - Poll Location. We can only move them from one place to another but we cannot disable them. |

I created a CSS code so that I can hide the boxes that I don't wish to display so that's not a problem for me. What I would like is latest Blog entry in the portal as well as latest stats entry. |

The suggestion about the topics being placed into the Portal in that topic you linked to Nemomon is definitely a good one. I hate how I can only get them to be listed from the area I choose, rather than multiple ones. Also, cutting off the amount of content shown in that same main content block would be great too, with the cut off content showing Read More... which serves as a link to the topic. |

Truthfully, the portal does need a good deal of work. I haven't talked with a lot of people about it, but those that I have seem to agree that the portal is lacking a lot. The portal would be better if you could add a lot more customization to it. Not just adding some simple content. And instead of constantly having to use HTML and whatnot, it would be great if the basic full reply screen was to pop up and you edit content using all that. |
