http://z13.invisionfree.com/The_Non_Island/index.php?act=idx I know NOTHING about CSS. I am computer literate, but code stupid. I have most of the colors changed on the forum, but there seems to be a couple that I'm missing/can't find. I want to get rid of the blue, and change it to black, but I'm not seeing anything (easily identifiable) that marks those particular menu bars. I'm getting really frustrated. If I could just get those bars fixed, I think I'd be all set. Could someone help, please? I just need to know where to look in the coding so I can implement the color I want. Thank you! Thank you to whomever moved this. I was just coming back to ask it to be moved. I hadn't realized at the time that I posted in the wrong section. Edited by Satai Delenn, Sep 5 2011, 05:55 AM.

For the blue in your logo area, find this in your CSS:Change it to this: This will remove the image that is repeating across the logo area, which is what is making that area appear blue. You can now just edit the background-color attribute to whatever colour you want to be displayed in that area. For the blue in your H2 areas, find this in your CSS: And again, change this to: For any other areas that may not be changing colour no matter what HEX code you use (that's the 6 digit code such as #000000) then check if the element of the CSS you are editing has a background-image in it like the ones I showed above and remove it like I have, or change the image URL to a URL for your own image.

So, it's OK to remove the images? I just don't want to do anything that is against Invisionfree. It keeps saying how not to remove the advertisements and stuff or they'll delete my board. |

Yes, the images in your CSS will simply be for elements such as those I described. If you're just changing colours and replacing/removing images in your CSS you shouldn't run into any problems. But even if you change something in your CSS you want to restore or happen to be worried about, we can always help you out with that.

OK, thank you. Unfortunately, I'm still running into problems. Where the blue was, white now is, and I can't seem to get rid of it, nor can I figure out which fonts are which so that I can at least make the white text dark, and the dark text on dark background white. *sigh* Why can't this stuff be more user friendly? |

For the H2 area, find this part:And change it to this: In your CSS, the color:#fff; part is what changes the font colour, and background-color:#fff; is what changes the background colour. If that is missing in any area such as the part above, you can simply add in it like I have done above. |

Thank you SO much! I freely admit that I am a complete idiot when it comes to coding, and because of my computer "skills" I have unfortunately learned in the past, that I know just enough to do lots of damage, lol. I royally ruined my previous computer because I thought I knew stuff, and edited things that shouldn't have been edited, and wound up calling my computer guy to see if things could be fixed (nope) and wound up having to buy a new computer (mostly because it was very old, and not worth rebuilding, lol). As a result, I am now overly-paranoid when it comes to editing things, because I'm always afraid I'm going to mess things up that bad. So, I really appreciate your help, Moonface! |
