I apologise if someone has already posted this somewhere, but I did look through the first 10 pages of the suggestions and didn't see a topic on it. (I could keep going, but it's late and I'm tired  )

Something I get asked by every moderator is why the option to set a moderator/admin edit notice doesn't exist. It exists on practically every other forum software bar this one.

Mods and Admins can edit someones post and put in an edit notice, but it can easily be removed by the member who owns the post which completely destroys the purpose of it.

Thanks. :)

Well... I am not sure if this is really needed. Basically the edit notice is only to show to the owner of the post that his message was edited. Other Members do not really care of that. Honestly, if given Member will edit his post just to remove the notice of Staff editing, I am pretty fine with that.

You can also prevent it happening by limiting the time members have to edit posts - I limited mine to 20 minutes - It guards against someone posting something, then being quoted and then the member changing what they said.

The option for the staff member to choose if their edit notice will stay or could go away could be useful, especially if 'reason for edit' was a feature.

And only, if it would not be a thing that You must include, but may include.

Name any feature of this sort that is of the "must include" category.

What I meant was that while editing given post You may insert some words in "Reason for edit", but You are not forced to do that.

And also "Reason for edit" is available only to Mods and higher. Please, do not give this to Members because they will start to abuse it like EA is abusing NOTE BBCode, and they will start to insert some &#^^ty reasons.

For this sort of "sticking staff edited notice" (that's what I'm calling it) to work properly, the post would have to be completely locked down after the staff edit.
Otherwise, a member could edit it again and if the staff edit notice "stuck" to the post it could look very, very, bad on the staff member.
