Nvidia 6800GT...great but with my card and my X-Fi XtremeMusic Sound card, it makes a great combination ;)

Lets say someones shooting at me in BF2, not only can I tell in what direction it came from, but how far away and the type of gun in alot of cases. :)

I've heard the X-Fi is a great card. Sadly finances aren't allowing for that upgrade now. However I am getting the 32 dollar SB Live! 24-Bit card. Nothing spectacular but paired with my new speakers it will provide a huge boost over my on board sound and 2 cheap speakers that shipped with the PC.

Dual core or dual proc?

And I didn't know they still made 3.6MHz processors. :P

I think dual core. What is dual proc? And what are you talking about: they don't make 3.6 processors...their fast, if you mean their outdated

Ross i have that card if you mean the doby digital 5.1 SB live one and with my 4.1 soundsystem it rocks :) My one is like six years old and still going strong so yeah it will be a good investment.

I wish my gfx card is better

I would rather invest in a better graphics card than in sound.

Agreed, but why settle for onboard sound. If you are investing in a good graphics card, you should have enough for a cheap Soundblaster :)

Sound and graphics together make the game. I mean with a great or a decent sound card like the creative sb series and a subwoffer..... that makes your game alive if you have the right sound card :)

O_o No you can't. I had a less than generic 128 Mb card on my old PC. There was no way in hell I could run BF2 at full specs. Then you have the fact that even my 7800GT can't run it at full Antialiasing. To run BF2 at full specs even the company recommends a 256Mb card and at least a Gig of RAM. I'm not even playing it now because one of my sticks of RAM died and I only have 512mb. So you can claim you can run it at full specs with your "128mb generic crap" but trust me...you can't.

I'm going to get an XFX nVidia 256 Meg GDDR3 6800 GS Extreme Overclocked Edition in a few weeks. It's going to be awesome and it says that it runs faster than a 6800 Ultra and costs less than half it's price.
