Basically what I'm asking/wanting is to have a Report button on the profile somewhere (placement doesn't really matter as long is doesn't stand out or blend in TOO much). This way users can report profile violations like avatars, signatures, something in a profile field, etc. that they find disturbing or breaking another rule. The same report button can be used as the one for posts and PMs, so a new image would not have to be made/added for every theme in existence. And obviously, there should be an option to enable/disable the reporting of profiles via the Admin CP just like you can enable/disable the reporting of posts and PMs. |

I have been suggesting this once, but then people was against this idea. The reason was that You can report avatar or signature through normal reporting post. In fact this can be a little hard to do, if user did not post anything. |

How can you report an avatar or signature through reporting a post? That should not have to be done and it only makes the staff think there is something wrong with the post when really the reporter is referring to the poster's avatar, signature or other profile feature. I don't see why this would be considered a bad idea at all, it seems pretty standard and simple to me. |

Well... while reporting a post You are able to insert a reason why are You reporting it. Therefore You can say that user's signature/avatar is very annoying or something. Personally I have been reviewing a lot of such a reports. |

Yes, but that shouldn't have to be done and members don't often include a reason (or a very good one) because most of the time it's obvious to a staff member what is wrong and they just need it brought to their attention. |

Talk to Your Members then. Honestly. I have no idea what Members You have, but from my own experience I can tell that my Members can very accurately say which Rule was violated, so I do not even need to read the post itself. |

I don't know why you're opposing this. You could easily be given the ability to disable it, and even if you aren't, it's just one button on the profile that will only HELP you and not hurt you. |

I don't get why anyone wouldn't want the ability for an user to specifically report a profile that has rule violations in it. I am well aware of the ability to report a post to point out a bad profile via the message you give to staff but it seems more like jury rigging a feature to do things it wasn't designed to do when it's honestly not necessary when it should be possible for this feature to be added to ZB. I would place this option in the profile options drop down box found on every profile. Obviously it would be absent from your own profile as well as any groups you deemed members should be unable to report such as admins or staff for example if you so wish. It would be as dumb as having to report a post in one forum in order to bring attention to a problem in a different forum on the board because the report feature is only available for half the forums on the board. |

And a report feature for rule breaking shouts. And a report feature for rule breaking blog posts. And a report feature for rule breaking reports. And a report feature for rule breaking rules. ...I think that makes my point. I don't oppose this, but I do see it as not really necessary. There are other ways to do it. That said, I think if it were to be implemented the way you've suggested would seem optimal, Bluezone (in the dropdown of user profiles). |

Blogs are a part of profiles so that would be a part of profile abuse reports. How could a member report a rule violating report if the member can't see them? Shouts aren't necessary because a shout box would move too quickly for anyone to find it plus if you as a mod aren't blind then you can see a fight going on in the main index of your forum if not then I suggest getting some glasses. Last one seems a definite joke so not bothering with it. |

Blog titles are, sure. Blog posts? Nope. /profile/ !== /blog/ If users can't be trusted to report a post and say "User's signature breaks rules." they definitely can't be trusted to report a profile and link to the specific blog post they have a problem with. It's not a fight. It's one malicious shout which is ignored then buried. Mods weren't on. Sure would be useful to be able to report it somehow. B-) |

And a report feature for rule breaking reports. = Can we be serious please? And a report feature for rule breaking rules. = Can we be serious please? |

I don't have a problem with adding the ability to report a member's profile, since as already pointed out, profile violations can occur without the member having posted yet. And especially for forums with LOTS of members, admins might miss a violation sans post. But if the admins/mods are active, then the reporting member could simply send a PM alerting the staff of the violation. So yeah, I have no issues with this, but there are other add-ons I think should have priority above it. Edited by cnm, Nov 5 2011, 11:03 PM.
