You may call him as humpty dumpty, but You may want to consider playing some games with it. They (almost) all are hard, so the pleasure after completing them is really great!

I remember playing the original game..... on... Sega Genesis if I remember right. Was so much fun, but frustrating, as there were no saves, and if you died, you had to start ALL OVER. Always went and did that track switch thing first lol.

Hehe, do You remember Treasure Island Dizzy? Possibly the HARDEST Dizzy game :D Just 1 life and You are forced to start all over, everything You touched was killing You, even a small candle, hidden traps. And the holding object system - You were able to kill Yourself once You dropped the bottle with oxygen xD

As for the game You are talking about, You probably are talking about The Fanstastic Adventures of Dizzy. It was released in two versions, Red and Blue, for NES and Sega Genesis (Sega Mega Drive). One of them, Blue, was very hard (the one with 100 stars to collect), while the other, Red, was very easy (that one with 250 stars to collect).

Summa summarum I have a great memories with Dizzy games

Yeah, the Fantastic Adventures is the one I had. I can't remember how many stars I had to get, it was oh so long ago. I remember I never finished it though, because if you missed just 1 star in an area, you were screwed, lol. So much for my 3 hours in front of the Sega.

Fond memories. ^-^ I *loved * Dizzy, it was a fantastic game and so much fun! But damn hard, haha. I played it again for the first time years not that long ago; it made me realise that a decade or more of playing more complex games on advanced consoles has softened my ability to do anything in the simpler settings of yore. =(

Shame I don't bother with the Android, iPad or iPhone. =P

I am playing Dizzy more or less regularly. Even today I have a meeting with a friend just to play Dizzy and Pong. Dizzy games were hard but in fact I think this is why everyone liked them. But I would disagree with You about "more complex games on advanced consoles" :P I myself dislike all the current gaming generations as well as 3D, so it is very hard for me to tell if current games are complex or not. Not that I would want to start a war between oldschool vs current games now of course, but I think that current games except of (relatively) nice GFX effects have nothing to share. Old games, just because their grafics was not the best, had at least a great gameplay.

I myself also don't have Android nor I-stuff, so this remake also isn't for me :P
