Then the third party codes will need to be updated as well. Also bugs can appear no matter of this filters, if the intention of the post writer is to cause them he will cause them. For example if I will want to cause bugs, I will not need to use let's say "[styani]text[/styani]" to do so. I will use this: "[style=something][animation=forward-down]text[/animation][/style]". Because that two things already are the same one thing.

My idea is to create filters that will work as BBCodes but in fact they will not be BBCodes, because everything without them can be already done. If I don't have "Style" BBCode and "Animation" BBCode, my "[styani]" will be useless.

I don't mean it will cause bugs for third party scripts, i mean it will cause Brandon a headache, if i had this as a possible BBCode what would you expect it to become

[bimg]

Would that be [b][img] or maybe [b][i][mg] (mg is not a tag so it wont do anything)

what about [bigmg] Is that [big] with the i missing from [img] or is it [b][i] with a misspelled [img]?

try this one [sub]

edit: misspelled Brandon, is confusing having another member called... Brendan?

I believe the point was not to have automatic combining, but to allow the word filters to have arbitrary BBCode that specifies some mass of other BBCode.

Well... considering that even now You can bold an image:

Posted Image = [.b][.img]http://z1.ifrm.com/0/1/0/p401368/balloons.png[/img][/b]

and it works; nothing wrong will happen from using [bimg] as well. Everything what now can be done with BBCOdes will be moved to filter. So, if it works now - it will works in filter too. If it is causing problems now - it will cause problems in filter too. But remember that filter is Admin controlled. Admins, theoretically, will not add to the filter something that may ruin their board. Theoretically...

Other examples:

Without SpacesWith SpacesI will getInstead of (without spaces):Instead of (with spaces):
[spoiler2]Dizzy[/spoiler2]
[spoiler2] Dizzy [/spoiler2]
Spoiler - highlight to see
Dizzy

[spoiler2]Dizzy[/spoiler2]
[t.able=1,Spoiler - highlight to see][b.order=blue,3][b.gcolor=blue][c.olor=blue] Dizzy [/color][/bgcolor][/border][/t.able]

or:

BeforeAfter
<golgotha>[img]http://z6.ifrm.com/4803/189/0/e5013245/e5013245.png[/img]

and then in post I will write:

More or less, yes. Instead of writing long chains of BBCodes one followed by another just to write one. Like with SPOILER2 is explained above.

Indeed, it would be easier. While I would want to see this feature someday added, and while Stephen in one of "Hate Topics" said:

Stephen

There was a reason IF never was able to add custom bbcode and why it's still tightly controlled in ZB.

I also would want a feature explained above in use too. Not every Admin is skilled enough in HTML (but in fact if this feature would be added, they always would request some BBCodes in ZNR), so for them better is working with filter.

I hate making long posts. No one is reading them <_<.

That's because you make to many. :p

But yes, rather than implementing this feature, adding the ability to create custom BBCodes is far more useful, as it lets you do what you're looking for and offers a lot more for communities too.

Next time we will see, I will give You a pie for reading it to the end without leaving it in the middle of reading it :)

Personally I also would want to see an advanced Custom BBCodes maker implemented to ZetaBoards. I think it would cause a new era for coders as well as for RDB.

We have seen that lately Brandon is adding a new BBCodes (enabling Table, adding Staff, Class, Members, Footnote), maybe he will consider creating an Anchor BBCode :)

Optionally also adding an Indent to BBCode to Posting page.

This has been noted.
It will be fixed eventually, possibly. :P

Can we eventually expect that the Moderator (and Admin) logs will be fixed someday? :)

Seeing:

Deleted Post Deleted Forum. ID »
Pinned Topic N/A
Closed Topic N/A
Member AutoTool 00 Signature Removed Run N/A
Combined Multiple Topics N/A
Trashed 17 topics N/A

is a bit awkward. Also some Admin actions (like changing Moderaotr sets) are logged but as a blank box.

Also to prevent power abuse I think an "Undo" button would be nice.

I hope so. It would be so much easier for those "accidental" deletes.
