A few weeks back I found a really cool site, basically what it does is it archives webpages and saves them to their servers.

Note: If you click a link on an old page it will direct you to the same link as if the site was still operating.

Sometimes if you get lucky you can find a site that is currently under construction or re-launching soon on www.archive.org so in effect you're the first person (other than the webmaster) to view the new website (even before its able to be seen by the public!)

No.
Archive.org can only archive sites that are publicly available, so plenty of other people could have seen it, and you could just go to the website and see it.

And it's no indexed anything and put it onto archive.org in 2005 yet (AFAIK), so it'd be an old site you'd have found...

Yes, archive.org is a nice site. I used it to look how some of my favourite sites used to look :) Very nice.
