Okay guys here's the problem.. we've bought a domain name for my community a few years back but we have it on web forwarding all those years. I don't want that anymore, I want the domain name to be the 'actual' website instead of a silly web forward. Now, I've taken time to read through the documentary and guidelines and it got me really confused. The company who's hosting my domain is located in Belgium (EasyHost.be), so I'll translate a couple words so you can actually understand what the screenshots are saying. Can you guys please guide me on how to set-up my domain? ![]() Voorbeeld means Example Mijn-Subdomein means My-Subdomain Alias voor means Alias for The screenshot below is the page I get redirected to whenever I want to change the DNS settings of my domain name. ![]() The screenshot below the the page I get redirected to whenever I click on 'Add C-Name record'. ![]() Please help me out, guys! ![]() My forum: http://z10.invisionfree.com/spittze Edited by Gianni, Jan 27 2012, 09:22 PM.

I may be wrong, but it looks as if you haven't put in your host name which would be something like: z10.invisionfree.com |

That's because I haven't touched the domain/dns settings yet, because I don't want to risk my domain to go offline for whatever reason. So should it be like this? And oh, should I also remove the two web forwardings I have activated right now, or.. ?

Quantum-locked when observed.

First you need to remove the web-forwarding. From the way the form looks, I’m not sure if you can use a CNAME record to point your domain to our server. You can try entering @ or * into the Hostname field. Alias for should be z10.invisionfree.com. If the form does not accept either of those hostnames, then you will have to use an A record instead (because we want spittze.be pointing to the server, not something.spittze.be). This is why you must disable web-forwarding: you’ll need to edit the A record for the hostname spittze.be. Change the IP address from what you see on that page to 209.85.48.5 Whatever changes you make will take a few hours to take effect. Once they have, and assuming you have done it correctly, then when you visit spittze.be you will see the message, “This domain is not set up for an InvisionFree board”. At this point you can add the domain to your board via your Admin CP’s Domain Manager. |

Ah, thank you very much! I will get to it and let you know what happens! Thanks again for your time! EDIT: Alright, I think it worked! I was able to create a new C-Name record. I'll wait a few hours now, since it's still redirecting the domain, even when I've deleted the webforwarding. EDIT: Worked! Thanks a lot! Edited by Gianni, Jan 29 2012, 08:47 AM.
